Malamanya – Cuban Son Ensemble Malamanya is a six-member Cuban Son ensemble comprised of a diverse group of musicians who perform traditional rhythms and melodies of Latin American and Caribbean music. Son (or “sound” in Spanish), the national music of Cuba, combines the influence of two musical cultures, Spanish and African, into a style of music many refer to as “Afro-Cuban.” It is also considered the root of most salsa music.
