Soil story: Moving to no-till and cover crops was a change but it’s where I wanted to go. It saves me time and money while improving the soil. The switch to no-till really was for time saving because I plant about 650 acres all myself, but once I saw the results and improvements in the soil, I kept at it. I sold the herd quite a few years ago and the longer I was without the manure, the harder it was to maintain yields. They call cover crops a green manure for good reason. The soil has better structure now. There is more life, more visible life. It just feels alive. @dave_gowan Join the conversation. Sign up at ontariosoil.net #LetsTalkSoil “It’s not hard.
