Decision points on where data lives – household vs. individual

Should households just be a roll-up point, or active constituents

Should be part of every design area, for example:

-Revenue – can households be donors?

-Marketing – who receives the mailing?

-Prospecting – can both the individual and household be managed?

Allow plenty of time for mapping these for conversion

SmartField – Calculated value that lives on constituent record – can be queried and

reported on

KPI – measure performance against goals with interim performance targets

Query – Ad-hoc (full) or Smart (pre-defined logic) – great for reviewing data and navigating

between records in BCRM

Export – Export raw data from the database, history of exports is maintained for auditing

and control

Datalist – Means of displaying a list in BCRM, updates dynamically

Report – Formatted, snapshot in time. Can be scheduled to email and is more known as

traditional report

Data Warehouse and OLAP – Eliminates performance concerns in CRM for complex

calculations – can be used for OLAP explorer in CRM, OLAP Excel reports, and standard

reports

Email Alerts – System or custom-defined messages sent to users based on various triggers

RSS – User-based subscription to push alerts and can consume through any RSS reader

(doesn’t need to flood inbox)
