MAKING OF THE POSTERChin Wah Lai

STEP 1

First I cropped out a picture of a man installing a light bulb using the magnetic lasso tool, and added a red background so that it would be easy to make the man’s shirt stand out from the background and make it easier to edit the photo

STEP 2

Then I used tutorial 4 to edit the man to make him more cartoon-like.

STEP 3

Next I edited a photo of a ladder using tutorial 4, and placed the man on the ladder.

STEP 4

After that I cropped out a picture of a tree, and split it into two parts, the trunk and the leaves. The tree was used in the poster to convey the message that ETI is environmentally friendly.

STEP 5

Then I used tutorial 4 to edit both parts of the tree, and used the paint brush tool to edit the tree slightly. Tutorial 4 was used on all images found from the internet, so that they would all be in the same format

STEP 6

After doing this, I used tutorial 1 to add a shadow for the tree, and used the eraser tool to write the name of the company on the shadow. The shadow was added to emphasize the source of light, which will be the light bulb.

STEP 7

Next I combined the edited picture of the man and the ladder with the edited picture of the tree.

STEP 8

Then I used the gradient tool to create a background, to draw attention to the centre of the poster. The background was made black as it blended with the shadow, and the white spot made it look like there was a spotlight shining onto the poster.

STEP 9

Afterwards I cropped out a picture of a light bulb, and used tutorial 2 to make it glow. This gave a source of light to the shadow, and was made to glow to attract attention to it. The light bulb is important as it is the product ETI is advertising.

STEP 10

Finally, I added the logo I made for the company on the top right hand side of the poster, and added a slogan under the tree in green, as green is associated with the environment.
