Th ursday 1st

I firstly put mysketched planonto Pages andmade my collegewhich I then putin to thebackground.

I then placed my editedversion of my articleinto the text box and

used an effect whichturned the text boxinto a scrap book stylewhich was perfect forthe whole theme that I am creating on thedouble page spread. I played around with theother settings andfound that turning

down the opacity looksa lot better thereforethe pictures behind arestill seen.

I was unable at thispoint work out how I put in a drop cap tostart the paragraph.

* F riday 2nd December

After making my plan onPages I then put myphotoshopped frontpage picture on to theplan therefore I canwork around thepicture.

I looked at variousother Mix Magmagazines and sawthat they used a smallphoto on the righthand side of the pageto entice the readertherefore I placed apicture that I hadtaken for my doublepage spread.

I tried out differentfonts and wished touse this font tointroduce theartists as its bigand bold and

matches with theIbiza Rocks. I knew from day 1that I had it waskey to use brightneon colours to fitin with the genreand decided neongreen and whitelooked really

effective with thephoto.

I followed a key code andconvention and placed mybarcode In the bottom righthand corner because itdoesnt obstruct any of thepicture.

* T uesday 6t h December

I tried out all the differentfonts from my mood boardand decided that this fontworks well as the title. I felt that the font fits in

well with the theme.

I chose to put a picturefrom the Photoshop which I had Photoshopped in thecorner therefore from the

front page they are able togo straight to contents andfind the page number.

I decided to use Slant font frommy mood board because it lookssharp and effective. I stuck byusing the colour them e of blackwhite and green. This is reallystrong and really stands out.

I used the samecolour from thefront to state theissue date andused a block fontfrom my moodboard which I hadcreated. I chose touse this fontbecause its simpleand works wellwith the rest ofthe magazinebecause its not toofancy.

I was inspired by theway Mix Mag simplyintroduce an act byplacing a name tag.Therefore because I changed the pictureinto black and white

I thought that thename tag in blackand white lookedgood with thepicture.

I firstly placed thephotoshopped image in tothe background of my firstpage of the double pagespread. I liked the way itwas a very clear and simplephoto with great eyecontact.

I added a caption to the photo insimple white font to contrast onthe background. In the caption I explained the story behind thepicture in a few words. This is a

code and convention which is key inincluding on a contents page. Itworked well that the whitecontrasted therefore the colourscheme continued.

I started to write downthe features inside mymagazine and knew itwas key in sticking tothe same fonts as IPCMedia said in theinterview. Therefore I stuck to the colourschemes and fonts so itflowed.

I experimented in makingmy logo on a separatedocument and decidedwith my class matesopinions that the title ofmy magazine looked bestin the Slant font. Thislooked really effectivebecause I was also usingthat font on my contentspage. I followed thelayout of Mix Magscontents page because I felt it was a really stronglayout.

I placed anotherpicture from myPhotoshop in to thelarger box to showthat it Is the maindouble page spread.

After researching and analysingother magazines they use linesabove the mast head to enticethe reader by stating somethingnotable/or a fact. I chose to usea bright neon yellow otherwise

using the same consistent coloursit wouldn't stand out and therewould be too much neon greenand white.

After deciding on what font I'musing for my mast head I had tofind a arrangement that willbecome recognisable like NME.

Because of the slanted text I played around and found aarrangement that worked well.

After going into ashop I realised thathaving a hotspot iskey to entice thereader into getting

something freewith the magazine.I wrote that youget a free DavidGuetta CD inside. I kept the colourscheme but placedit on a blackbackground toreally contrast and

catch the eye ofthe reader.

I changed the place where Plusartists were placed because whenhaving them the opposite side theIbiza Rocks green merged in andthe text didnt stand out at all. Itis important the readers seeswhat other artist are insidetherefore it appeals to a wideraudience.

I continued to plan outhow the contents willbe layed out with whatcolours and font etc.

I finally added in apicture I had taken ofAmber covered in paintto show the story of thenew trend. I added inthe page number alongwith the caption toinform the reader onwhat page it appears on

and the story behindthe picture.

I designed the competition thatis stated on my front cover and

what page it appears on. I thought that using the brightgreen would be too muchtherefore I used a neon orange. I placed on it the iconic Ibizaisland map and persuasive text.

Today I got on with filling upthe contents page and whatpage numbers link with thecontent with guidance of my

flat plan thatI

have created.The flat plan I created was ahuge help when designing mycontents page. I put the F

I started to addstories downthe sidefollowing codesandconventions. Ikept with thecolour scheme.

I then added In the subheading of the main storywhich is a key code andconvention. I added arhetorical question to getthe reader thinking andpersuading them to readon. I stuck to the colour scheme but used avariety of words indifferent colours thereforeit contrasts and is moreeye catching.

I played aroundwith differenteffects and foundthat adding ashadow makes thetitle look 3D andmore eye catching.

I decide that thesubheading was too long

previously so shortenedit.

I took out the free CD at thebottom because I realised itlooked stupid having twofree CD's along with thehotspot in the corner.Therefore I wanted to makea big hotspot and advertisethe free tickets for IbizaRocks can be won inside. Iused a flashing yellow spikybox to make it eye catching.

I played around thethe different effectsand saw you canmake the text glowetc.
