Visvesvaraya Technological University (V.T.U.) and U.G.C. have conferred ‘Autonomous Status’ on RIT for both UG and PG Programs from the academic year 2007-2008. The institute is a participant of the Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP), an initiative of the Government of India. Some of the distinguished features of RIT are: State of the Art Laboratories, Individual computing facility to all faculty members, Campus-wide networking connecting more than 2300 computing systems to the net and Wi-Fi, in campus centers including, Centre for Advanced Training and Continuing Education, Centre for Research and Industrial Consultancy, and Entrepreneurship Development Cell, Placement and Training Department with a committed team, a fully equipped Sports Department, Large Air-conditioned Library with over 115500 books with subscription to more than 300 International and National Journals, Digital Library with several online e-journals like IEEE, JET etc., modern auditorium, several hi-tech conference halls, Board Rooms, all air-conditioned with video-conferencing facilities and also has excellent hostel facilities for boys and girls.

Industrious and enterprising, Dr. M. S. Ramaiah is one among Karnataka’s illustrious sons. He founded ‘Gokula Education Foundation’ in 1962 without expecting any kind of assistance from the Government with an objective of serving the society. Ramaiah Institute of Technology (RIT) was born under the aegis of this foundation in the same year, creating a landmark in technical education in India. Through the years,

The discipline of engineering is extremely broad, and encompasses a wide range of specialized fields of engineering, with specific emphasis on particular areas of technology and types of application. The developments in higher education are multidisciplinary in nature, where new collaborations are formed and creativity has succeeded. Students and researchers still need the disciplinary depth to truly master complex subject matter, but that knowledge be-comes even more powerful when combined with that of experts from other diverse fields. National Conference on Making of a Digital India-Renewed Challenges, Opportunities and Effective Deliverables, provides a common platform for all the researchers among basic engineering science branches to share their research and to express their ideas and views.

RAMAIAH INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY(RIT)RIT has imparted quality engineering education, accessible to thousands from across India and abroad for more than five decades. Widely acknowledged as a visionary, educationist, industrialist and philanthropist, Dr. M. S. Ramaiah personally ensured that the institution which began with just two disciplines grew phenomenally into 29 institutions over the years. RIT now offers Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate programmes in several disciplines and is recognized as one of India’s leading names in technical education. The institution is equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories, well stocked libraries and has highly qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty. In tune with the noble ambitions and aspirations of Dr. M.S. Ramaiah, present directors are striving to keep the institution growing and developing continuously so as to become a ‘Jnana Sagara’ and all the engineering departments are continuously engaged in implementing appropriate procedures to initiate, include and conduct unique programmes keeping in touch with the emerging requirements of the industry.
