Danforth Lighting Center is a 15,000 square foot education, demonstration and mock-up facility located in Massachusetts where professionals explore the impact of quality lighting using full-scale classrooms, offices, labs, retail spaces and hospital rooms. Lighting designers can employ light to create

predictable human emotional and behavioral

For LED fixtures to look their best, it is essential that each individual LED used in a fixture be highly similar in chromaticity. Demanding better color uniformity from a fixture than those derived from ANSI standards, Litecontrol matches LED color temperature within each fixture by its own standard – more than four times as stringent as ANSI.

But Litecontrol’s commitment to sustainability goes

far beyond energy reduction. As the first manufacturer

to achieve Cradle to Cradle Certification for lighting

fixtures, Litecontrol marked the fifth consecutive year

for earning this disticntion in 2012. This certification

applies to all fixtures manufactured at Litecontrol’s

Massachusetts-based factories and is testament to

Litecontrol’s commitment to manufacturing lighting

fixtures with rigorous sustainable methodology.

Litecontrol’s leadership in environmental stewardship extends back to the company’s founding in 1936. Since then, the company and its manufacturing plants have co-existed among highly environmentally-sensitive cranberry bogs, conservation land and family-populated neighborhoods.
