Maki Longboards is a surf-skate company located in El Segundo, CA that brings together the creative interests, technical skills, and life experience of Erik Maki.

Growing up in San Francisco, Erik spent countless hours in his grandfather's shop exploring the various uses of the hand tools and machinery of a bygone era. In college at the University of California - San Diego, Erik spent much of his time on the water working as a wilderness guide, leading kayaking and surfing, trips along the rocky coast of the Baja Penninsula. The first vision of Maki Longboards came in 2007 from the realization that no skateboards atthat time looked or rode anything like a classic longboard surfboard.

Since then, Erik Maki has developed his own style of surf-skateboards by seeking a balance between classic design and modern sustainable construction practices. Today, the Maki lineupincludes refined shapes utilizing the classic stylings of color tints and pinlines to showcase the natural beauty of wood as a construction material.

We believe in building every board as if it is our own personal board, and this is the kind ofthoughtfulness, attention to detail, and quality our customers expect from Maki Longboards.
