Blurb.● Droid for the MakerLab

○ Uses video/audio to record story

○ Idea originated from blab droid,

● To capture “stories” as feedback for future improvements of the MakerLab, as

well as publication of these stories

● Increase efficiency of collecting data in the MakerLab

○ Uses cuteness, approachable factor, as well as the ability for speech/audio

○ How can we increase the interactiveness between the Maker Lab and its users by making it

easier/more comfortable for people to share ideas with others?

Materials Used.● Raspberry Pi 3 Board

● Jumper cables

● Microphone (mini)

● Camera module

● Speakers (x2)

● Wood and laser cutting machine

● LCD Display

Beginning Stages.● Sketches

Prototyping.● 1st Prototype

○ 3D printing (inner frame)

○ Cardboard

■ Very basic and primitive

Prototyping - Outer frame & Laser Cutting.● 2nd prototype

○ Rough estimates using cardboard measurements

■ BODY: 120mm * 150mm * 120mm

■ HEAD: 135mm * 150mm * 185mm

○ Measurements for camera, LCD display, speakers, microphone

○ Decided to not use arms and legs for the droid

■ immobile
