All committed to Energy Efficiency

Companies already participate in this challenge by making their products more sustainable from the moment of their creation, manufacturing, distribution, life cycle and also, thinking about its later recycling. At the same time we implement renewable sources of energy in production plants, which will lead us to a medium-term sustainability action. In a short term we need to invest in the demand, being more efficient in its use, as well as its maintenance and upkeep.

The installer, being the one who knows the systems and their daily contact with the customer, is the one who detects possible Energy Efficiency savings in order to provide appropriate solutions.

All systems, in terms of its use and operation, evolve with the flow of time, just like the manufacturers; evolve with new products that cover new necessities. This vision is the vision, that the installers, with the help of the distributor, offer to the market, making out of the today’s’ systems, the systems of the future, developable, economic and sustainable.

For the detection of possible energy savings, it is very important to try to find the advice of the installer and of the distributor, so that they can analyze energy balances, the capacities of the systems and then identify short and medium-term energy savings. This will give us the answer, saying HOW and WHEN to act.

Motor control with Variable Speed drives In a conventional pumping and ventilation installation, the electric motor is directly supplied by the line supply and runs at its rated speed. With a drive placed between the circuit breaker and motor the saving in electricity cost could reach from 15% and 50% depending on the installation. The return on the investment is usually very quick, between 9 and 24 months.

> Parking Management of the ventilation and presence in the parking

Willing to improve your neighbors’ comfort?

Fumes extraction from the parking generates noise that may be bothering for the neighbors of the plot.

Turning light on and off does not satisfy the necessities of the users: – Usually there are few light switches and they are incorrectly distributed. – When switching the light, all lights in the parking are turned on. – Light may remain on.

Installer’s efficient recommendation:The installer verifies the ventilation circuit and detects that there is no device that regulates ventilators. Every time ventilators start to operate at 100% of its power, they make bothering noise to the neighbors.

How to reduce the noise coming from the ventilation? We suggest reducing decibels by regulating the operation of the motor, start-up and speed. With Altivar variable speed drive we can manage the speed of the ventilator at the start-up and during its operation. Moreover you can control the drive according to the volume of CO2 by means of specific sensors.

How to manage lighting? The installer recommends controlling the activation of lighting by zones by means of Argus Motion detectors. The system assures the correct turning on of the lamps always when necessary.

For the owner of the system: We manage to correctly extract fumes, reducing noise generated by the ventilators.

With regard to Energy Efficiency: By carrying out the control of the inverter according to the volume of CO, it is possible

to optimize the power consumption of your installation. By making the lighting system automatic, we manage to control the lighting necessities

of the users of the parking.

Residential Sector > Common shared zones Automatic lighting in common zones: corridors, staircases, elevators...

Have you thought of having a more comfortable and safe staircase?

It is not necessary that all lights in the whole stair case are on, when switching any light switch.

It is not comfortable to switch the light when you arrive with your hands full of things.

Installer’s efficient recommendation:The community wants to modernize its shared installations and make them more comfortable for the neighbors and provide correct light at the right moment. The installer recommends to make the lighting of the building automatic and treat each zone as and independent and optimized one.

How can we increase the comfort of the neighbors? We know it is not necessary to turn on all the lights in the staircase when someone switches the light. With Argus motion detectors, without the necessity to look for the device and switch the light, lights will be activated on such level where people are detected, enabling intelligent power consumption.

For the owner of the system: We manage to modernize and improve the operation of our installation. We improve the comfort of the neighbors, by automatic lighting activation.

With regard to Energy Efficiency: Reasonable and efficient use of electric energy used to illuminate staircase and landings,

because only necessary lights are turned on at the moment. Reduce the community’s invoice for the power consumption.

> Technical community installation Community Electric Panel

Can you imagine to have the community safe and under control?

The aim is to reduce the bills for energy without reducing the comfort.

Electrical discharge caused by thunders or manipulation are dangerous to household appliances and electronic devices.

We want to have the biggest services continuity possible, especially in elevator and in the parking area..

Installer’s efficient recommendation: Bills for electric energy are very high ad we do not actually

know the reason why.By having ME4 power meter you will be able to read the consumption of electric energy of different installations in the building, which will enable you to act in such areas where the consumption is excessive.

There is a storm and due to electric discharges various receivers are destroyed.Provide in the community’s general electric panel, surge arrester Quick PRD in order to protect all electronic and electric devices. This device has automatic disconnecting device to assure bigger continuity of the services.

Lights in the maintenance area sometimes stay on.By means of a presence detector by Argus we assure the activation of lights only when someone is in the area.

By electrical discharge, caused by a storm, the elevator does not work because differential switch was activated.Place differential switches REDs to assure major continuity of the service of the elevator.

For the owner of the system: The continuity of the service will increase in common shared zones, which will contribute

to bigger comfort. The installation will be protected, which will exclude significant damages to the receivers

in different zones.

In terms of Energy Efficiency: Simply, with the supervision and control of the power consumption of the installation,

it’s possible to save up to 10%.

A stay with the lights on without people inside it, is a useless waste.

Efficient installer’s recommendation: A customer walks into the bathroom and when leaving,

leaves the lights on. With Argus motion detector, lights are switched on or off when a guest enters or leaves the area.

The bathroom ventilation system is permanently connected. The second independent Argus Motion detector exit is used to turn off the exhaust a few minutes after the sensor detected that the guest left.

In the common shared areas with natural source of light, we waste energy by keeping the lights on.With Argus twilight detector, we can regulate the threshold of power in the common shared areas, according to the amount of natural light.

For the owner of the system: Give maximum comfort to the clients and considerably reduce the electricity bill.

With regard to Energy Efficiency: Maintain appropriate lighting levels in all areas saving up to 20%. Provide toilets with a proper ventilation system.

Buildings Sector > Hotels > RoomsManage lighting and atmosphere

What if your guests felt like at home?

Difficulty to customize all services, such as air conditioning, shades, and lighting, according to preset schedules or guests’ wishes.

The necessity of having a centralized system of lighting, air conditioning, and ventilation working, while guests are not in the room.

It is not possible to know the status of the installation from the reception of the hotel.

All natural light coming through the windows is not made use of.

If someone opens the windows, air conditioning should switch off.

Efficient installer’s recommendation: It is necessary to maximize the use of natural light.

It is possible to achieve it by lighting sectors within the room, depending on natural light. The KNX bus can automatically control it.

If the window is open, no energy should be wasted. This is possible to achieve by means of KNX system by Schneider Electric. It is only necessary to introduce to the system sensors that will detect the opening and closing the windows to shut down the air conditioning system.

Wake up at dawn with daylight.By installing the automatic shades module integrated into the KNX system by Schneider Electric, the guest can select the time of opening and closing of shades via a user display.

For the owner of the system: You will achieve a differentiating element in your hotel. Avoid unnecessary visits of maintenance staff and detect possible failures. No energy is wasted by improper use of the facility, reducing the power consumption to meet

the needs of customers.

For your clients: Your customers will receive personalized services, as if they were at home These special services will enhance the overall customer satisfaction and his/her loyalty towards

Can you increase the customer attraction and the profitability of your facility at the same time?

Selling and serving customers is the mission of the employees, but this does not save energy because they cannot manage properly the interior and exterior lighting of the shop.

We need to attract our customers’ attention, both outside and inside the shop.

We want to use only necessary energy.

Efficient installer’s recommendation:By emphasizing the most important sales spaces and the different needs of each of them, the installer will recommend Ikeos automation system.

How can I increase the visibility of my business premises? To turn on the lighted sign, you can connect to one of the Ikeos inputs IC2000; a photocell will be connected when necessary. We can even perform intermittent lighting to increase its visibility.

Can I stop worrying about turning off the lights in my warehouse? To turn the lights off automatically, we can use the timer function provided by Ikeos. You will not worry about leaving the light on, because as we leave with our hands full, as the light will turn off automatically.

Can I choose when I want the lights to stay on, on my shop window? You can define periods when you want the lights to be switched on, on the shop window, by means of an annual Ikeos Programmable Time Switch. This allows you to define what time and what days the light should stay on.The same function can automatically turn on and off the light and air conditioning in various areas of the store that remain open to the public: changing rooms, display area, and warehouse, preventing that the light is unnecessarily turned on during all night.

For the owner of the system: The lighting will cease to be one of your daily tasks, giving you more time to devote to your

business and your customers. You will obtain an image of your business that will be more attractive to your customers.

With regard to Energy Efficiency: Your electricity bill will no more come as a surprise for you, as controlling when the lights turn

Buildings Sector > Restaurants > Table area Customize lighting and air conditioning

Would you like your customers to come back more often?

Common shared areas require warm and customized atmosphere for your customers.

Often the air conditioning operates at high level with low performance.

It is logical that there are more important things to think about, than to go hours before to connect air conditioning.

Efficient installer’s recommendation: It is possible that for good lighting, you are spending more

energy than necessary.By installing STD tele-inverters, it is possible to create scenes and decrease or increase the power of the light. You can create different lighting zones controlled by a tele-inverter: bar area with additional low-energy light, and another area, the restaurant is lit with incandescent lights to regulate their intensity through the push-button. With a long push-movement, the light becomes less or more intense.

We want to prevent the ventilation to operate at peak performance when the room is not full. With the Altivar variable speed drive, you can control the speed of ventilation, based on occupancy of the room.

We maintain comfortable environment for our clients, without having to worry about turning the air conditioning on and off.Using IHP Time Switch ensures the activation or deactivation of air-conditioning and ventilation, avoiding situations that they are on, when the restaurant is closed.

For the owner of the system: We will make the client’s stay more pleasant and comfortable by personalizing the environment. Let us make the lifetime of the installation longer, by making smooth stops and starts to avoid

the problem of sudden stops.

With regard to Energy Efficiency Control energy expenditure in three ways:

- Decreasing power consumption on light through the tele-inverters.- Using variable speed drives saves up to 50% energy.- By controlling the switching on / off of air conditioning, we will avoid unnecessary power consumption.

What if we could improve the comfort and the performance of your kitchen?

The space in the kitchen is small and usually very busy. Add to this, harsh working conditions, such as heat, smoke, odors...

There are periods where the kitchen needs high performance or air conditioning and other moments, when such performance is not necessary.

Of course, employees should concentrate on improving the quality of the culinary dishes, and not control air conditioning.

Efficient installer’s recommendation: Since the kitchen needs proper ventilation, it should conform

to the periods when it is necessary. Therefore, when working in the kitchen does require the maximum performance, it is not necessary that the ventilation engine work at the top speed.Altivar variable speed drive efficiently manages the adjustment of extraction rate by reducing or increasing the speed according to the needs. The drive may connect to a centralized management system for buildings. In addition, with IP54 option, its reliability increases in harsh environment such as the kitchen. It is also possible to detect a fire and not stop the extraction of smoke while gas supply is cut. The demand for smoke extraction is managed using a digital IHP time switch to schedule the hours and days that the ventilation should be activated.

If there is air conditioning, it must adapt to the schedules without the obligation of manual adjustments. With Unica weekly programmable thermostat, it is possible to define temperature that should be maintained and comfortable temperatures. This will avoid unnecessary consumption, by means of the automation of air conditioning that will adapt to our preferences.

For the owner of the system: The business will have a better performance with a better customer service, resulting from

the improved working conditions and comfort for the kitchen staff. Extends the life of the installation and protects the motors, preventing the fan to run all

the time at full capacity.

With regard to Energy Efficiency Exhaust power consumption is reduced by 50% when operating at 80% of its efficiency. Scheduling of the air conditioning can save up to 30% by the automatic shutoff.

Buildings Sector > Schools > ClassroomsAdapt ventilation and lighting to the schedule of the school

What if teachers can better teach their classes and students improve their grades?

Students and teachers need to have the best conditions to make the utmost use of the lessons.

The classrooms have no proper ventilation or lighting that would be adapted to their function.

Efficient installer’s recommendation: The lighting is too intense or not enough intense, depending

on time of the day and seasons.Argus detector system turns the light on or off, depending on the natural light and the presence of the students.

The classrooms are enclosed spaces with a large number of people inside and correct air exchange is necessary. You can manage the ventilation in relation to the occupation of the classrooms and to the schedule defined by a programmable IHP switch. In addition, the use of Altivar 21 variable speed drive to control the fan speed, depending on the required flow, saves energy.

For the owner of the system: The improvement of working and learning conditions for teachers and students.

With regard to Energy Efficiency: Significant savings in electricity bill as opposed to lighting and ventilation that is not automated.

Buildings Sector > Schools > GymAdjust the temperature and lighting according to the needs

Why waste the opportunity to save energy in your gym?

This is a system with very diverse zones (changing rooms, activity lounges…)

Different energy management will be required in changing rooms, activity room, and a swimming pool.

The user does not care about the power consumption in various installations.

Moisture extractor in the showers runs continuously.

Efficient installer’s recommendation: We must ensure that moisture in the showers does not reach

too high levels. There are several methods; the most effective alternative in this case is to control the fan speed through an Altivar variable speed drive and a humidistat. The fan works at a speed that is adjusted to the degree of moisture, and therefore saves energy.

In the multi‑activity room, we need to manage the lighting and ventilation in an optimal way, according to occupation. With Argus detectors, we can turn on the lighting and the ventilation only when users are present in the room.We will also optimize the consumption of the ventilation engine with the implementation of an Altivar drive.

For a long time during the day, there is enough natural light to illuminate the gym without having all the lights on. By Argus twilight detectors, we will manage the turning of lights on and off in order to make the best use of natural light. We can reach an integrated and centralized solution through a KNX solution.

In the pool, we define the turning on and off of the air conditioning, ventilation and lighting according to a preset schedule of activities.Depending on your needs, with IHP time switch, we can define the activation of the air conditioning or ventilation, some time before the opening, as well as lighting, with the arrival of the personnel. We may also optimize the pumping of water with an Altivar drive that will provide bigger or smaller flow.

For the owner of the system: Your costs will be much more adapted to the lower power consumption and your service will be

more tailored to the users’ needs. The lifecycle of your facilities will be longer, thanks to a smooth start, caused by the variable

speed drive. With regard to Energy Efficiency:

Significant energy saving of 30% with the use of presence detectors, and up to 50% with the use of inverters.

Buildings Sector > Schools > LibraryCustom the level of comfort for the student

Did you know that better comfort equals to a better performance?

We have a large space with lots of light during specific times of the day.

We want to use natural light in areas that face the exterior side.

We need quiet environment suitable for studying.

Efficient installer’s recommendation: The lighting is turned on in all areas regardless of the actual

occupancy of the space.Argus presence detectors installed in strategic areas, ensure illumination only where needed, so it is possible to take advantage of natural light.

File areas are usually aisles with bookshelves, and do not need to be permanently illuminated. At the beginning and the end of the aisle, install an Argus motion detector to turn on the light during the time of the book search.

The reading area is usually situated in the area with more natural light.By installing IC2000 twilight detector with its photocell, we will activate the lights in the area, where the external light source is not enough.

Avoid situations when the library is closed and the air conditioning is working.By means of IHP time switch, schedule the activation and deactivation of the air conditioning.

For the owner of the system: You will get more performance and comfort for library users.

With regard to Energy Efficiency: Considerable savings in lighting and air conditioning ensuring that they are used only when

Industry Sector > Common solutions > Technical systemMeasurement of energy consumption and energy management

What if the consumption of you installation was in your hands?

The equipment has high consumption and the continuity of service is basically important.

We have a continuous demand for increasing productivity.

We need that equipment that is critical to the production be protected against electric shock caused by lightning or supply defects.

Efficient installer’s recommendation: The electricity bill is very high and has many take‑off points

in different areas.Protecting your installation with the new Compact NSX range, with advanced control unit, you will be able to see the consumption of each line of the system, in order to detect excessive consumption.

We operate in the field of industry and want to parameterize the values of protections, so we have to go to the electrical board. With Modbus communication module, we manage to analyze the energy consumption, cost allocation, and analyze the quality of supply remotely, from the offices without having to go to that certain spot.

Transitory surge, due to a storm or a manipulation of the network, can cause damage to the receivers.Install a Quick PRD surge arrester to protect all electrical and electronic equipment. This device incorporates an automatic shutdown to provide greater continuity of service.

The lights in the technical rooms often remain turned on.Using Argus motion detector we ensure the turning on of light, only when required by the user.

Any industry can have many engines that generate reactive power as well as harmonics in the installation. They prevent the increase of the power consumption and, this, the electricity bill.Placing Varset SAH capacitor bank with detuned reactor you can correct the generation of reactive power to reduce the electricity bill. You will also have your equipment protected against harmonic damages that occur in engines.

For the owner of the system: Your business will improve its productivity through the reduction of failures:

With regard to Energy Efficiency: A much more efficient use of energy. We will reduce the electricity bill up to 30% with the

implementation of condenser batteries. In addition, supervision and monitoring of the installation power consumption contributes to a more

efficient use of energy and contributes to a more conscious behavior, allowing to save up to 10%.

Specific solutions > WorkshopsManagement of loads

Why not intelligently manage the turning on and off, of the loads to reduce your bill?

I am heavily penalized for exceeding the maximum contracted power or I have to contract a higher power than that what I need.

If there is a voltage drop, I cannot give priority to certain areas of operation.

Efficient installer’s recommendation: How to reduce the contracted power without lowering the

performance of my mains? It is possible to sequence start-up peaks of the systems or loads in such a way, that they are not added and that the resulting start-up peak, be much smaller. This may be achieved by installing a programmable Logic Zelio relay. As you have up to 10 outputs of up to 6 A, it is not necessary to place interface relays, and it is very practical for situations where the box space is limited. With 7 poles, it is possible to activate sequentially up to 10 different areas. If necessary, more Zelios in Ethernet may be connected in cascade, in order to incorporate as many zones as desired. For a more intuitive management, you can incorporate Magelis touch screen.

If the network drops temporarily, I would like to try to maintain some of the facilities working.Zelio Logic Relay can be programmed to give priorities and to alleviate non-priority loads. The installing a Phaseo power supply, keeps critical parts of the installation in progress. As an advanced installation, it would be possible to establish different control areas, designating different groups of loads in each of them.

For the owner of the system: Lengthen the lifecycle of the installation, as the sequential turning on and off, makes that

transient voltage peaks are absorbed by other loads on the network.

With regard to Energy Efficiency: Decrease your electricity bill, by reaching a lower contracted power.

Specific solutions > Logistics and WarehouseManagement of lighting on docks and picking areas

Do you want to ensure proper illumination of the dock, only when needed?

The docks and picking area are different large areas that do not require lighting 24 hours a day.

Only when used, they must be properly lit to enable the preparation of material.

We do not always take advantage of natural light during the day.

Efficient installer’s recommendation:The lighting stays on because it is often connected manually and the proper use of the facility depends on employees.

It is possible that when closing the dock there are some lights that are switched on during all night. Employees are loaded with material and cannot comfortably operate the lights in different areas. We can strategically place Argus motion detectors in each work area, to light only the areas where work is performed. This is how we can create different areas with independent administration in order to optimize the use of energy. With Twilight IC2000 detector and the photoelectric cell, you can regulate the threshold of light in each area, depending on external light entering into the dock.

For the owner of the system: Improved working conditions through the automation of lighting… It may also lead to avoiding accidents.

Sector Industry > Specific solutions > Logistics and WarehouseAutomation of conveyors

What if you consumed only the necessary energy?

Some conveyors work even if there are no products on them.

When the demand for production decreases, the speed of the conveyors and their power consumption remains at the same level of 100%.

Efficient installer’s recommendation: Start or stop the conveyor depending on whether there

are products on it, or not:For small installations, or such of just one conveyor, it is necessary to connect OsiSense products sensors, directly to the coils of the TeSys contactors. If you wanted a more efficient solution, we would suggest you to install low consumption TeSys contactors. For medium-sized installations, or such with various conveyors, we could make a simple control with a Twido controler. It can capture all signals from OsiSense detectors and can synchronize the turning on/off of the conveyors.

Reduce or increase the production rate, depending on the need:By installing Altivar variable speed drives, we can adjust the speed and the consumption, depending on the demand. We can do it by manually increasing or decreasing the speed, or with the orders issued by Twido controler.

Signals power consumption can be reduced. We can achieve this using low power push buttons Harmony that also significantly increases its lifecycle.

For the owner of the system: Proper automation will avoid premature wear of the material, and will also reduce machine

stoppages due to failures and consequently, will increase its productivity. By reducing your electricity bill, you will reduce your production costs, using only the necessary

amount of energy.

With regard to Energy Efficiency: Low power TeSys contactors reduce your power consumption by 55%, when compared with

traditional contactors.

IC 100

ICWith darkness comes light!

Automate lighting of surroundings of a building

Customer’s needsWhen a public or tertiary building requires illumination of its surroundings at night-fall, simple time programming is not sufficient to ensure safety and energy saving at the same time as the brightness threshold varies according to season and climate. The site manager wishes to light up the surroundings when the natural brightness threshold becomes insufficient, and switch off automatically when daylight is sufficient again.

Our recommendationThe IC 100 light-sensitive switch is the ideal product for problem-free management of these needs. Once installed and its threshold set, it will automatically switch on and turn off the lighting at the right time. A built-in time delay avoids untimely closing or tripping during undesired transient brightness conditions.

Energy Efficiency core productsThe solution is to set the lighting operation threshold on the IC 100 light-sensitive switch according to the external brightness measured by the wall-mounted cell:

The photoelectric cell detects low QQ brightness, causes closure of IC 50 contact Q

and ensures lightingThe IC 100 monitoring light comes on when brightness threshold is reached and Q

Ensure effective lighting of the entrance of a block of flats

Customer’s needsShared building premises (entrance halls, cellars, garages,...) have the specific feature of episodic and irregular use. Moreover, they are normally located in dark places requiring lighting at all times of the day and night. Permanent lighting of these places is incompatible with the notion of energy savings.

Our recommendationBy using one MINp timer, it is easy to efficiently manage temporary lighting of shared building premises. The early switch-off warning reduces light intensity by 50% just before the end of the period, thus enabling the restart a new 3-minute period in complete safety without reaching total darkness. If permanent lighting is needed (servicing, maintenance,...), the ON override function will ensure continuous operation of lights.

Energy Efficiency core productsMINp timer with switch-off warning function integrated in the product:

The switch-off time delay can be set between 0.5 and 20 min Q

Energy Management

Monitor and analyse electrical consumption of a shopping centre

Customer’s needsThe manager wants to identify excessive or unnecessary electrical energy use by controlling the consumption in different areas of the shopping centre and to allocate cost to the appropriate cost centre.

Our recommendationA three-phase meter with neutral ME4zrt counts the total energy consumed by the installation; measurement is taken using current transformers.

A three-phase meter ME3zr measures the energy of the specific furnace circuit.

A 3 single-phase meter ME1zr measures the active energy of the other circuits.

A yellow indicator light on the front face of the meter flashes according to consumption.

Energy Efficiency core productsPowerLogic ME W/hr meters are designed for measurement of Watt-hours by a single-phase or three-phase electrical circuit.

Ideas to be Efficient

Tips and best practices for saving energy in the daily people’s lives.

Residential sector

Replace traditional bulbs with tungsten filaments by compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) or LED technology. Traditional bulbs consume up to 75% more energy.

Turn off the lights when leaving a room, because the peak consumption at turning on the light is equivalent to an average of 24 seconds of operation for fluorescent tubes, one to two seconds for LED technology, and less than a second, for compact fluorescent lamps. However, repeated turning off and on of low energy lamps and fluorescent tubes shortens their lifecycles.

Keep clear and unobstructed areas, where radiators are located, otherwise their performance is negatively affected.

Buy appliances with the best energy class. There are 7 kinds of energy efficiency, identified by a color coding and letters (from the green color and the letter A for the most efficient equipment, to the red color and the letter G for the least efficient ones).

Turn off televisions and video game consoles, their residual consumption may cost up to €60 a year.

126

Buildings sector

Select appropriately the temperature preset on the thermostats. Each additional degree of temperature can generate increases in heating costs by up to 8%.

Make sure that the heating is synchronized with the periods when the building is occupied.

Insulate properly the building envelope; the heat loss can be reduced by 90%.

Clean the lamps regularly (once a year). The dirt on them can significantly reduce the efficiency of lighting.

Regularly clean the windows. The dirt on the glass hinders the natural light. Also, make sure that the blinds are opened to allow the use of natural light.

Leaving the copying machine in hibernation when not in use, and turn off at the end of the day, a copier that is left overnight uses enough energy to make 1,500 copies.

Program monitors to go into hibernation mode when inactivity is detected; they consume two-thirds of the energy required by Computers. When the employees leave their jobs, computers should be shut down.

127

Industry sector

Shutdown, whenever possible, all ancillary facilities where production machinery is not working. The consumption of manufacturing plants when they are not in operation, but on standby, can be up to 30%, because although the machines are off, ancillary facilities stay on.

Install more efficient electric motors; in a typical factory they consume 60% of energy. An electric motor can consume the energy that is equivalent to its purchase price in 2 months’ time. It is important to select power that is adequate for the load they will support, since the efficiency of an engine that works outside its nominal point drops dramatically.

Avoid installing oversized power motors and use variable speed drives to maximize engine performance at different operating regimes.

Immediately repair leaks in compressed air systems. All gaskets, seals, hoses and couplings should be checked frequently. An effective leak detection system is very useful and its cost of implementing it is reduced.

Install quick opening doors or strip curtains in all the interior doors of trucks. In many cases, they become amortized in less than a year. The batteries of electric trucks should be loaded after hours of peak electricity demand (evening/night).
