CATEGORY PHILOSOPHY

The Serious science behind the Fun comes from our E3 Philosophy, engineering products efficiently to work together,

with less effort, to have more fun. From the first-time beginner to the seasoned vet, we know a thing or two about engineering products that eliminate the gear headache and

keep skiers focused on taking one more run. Ok, maybe two. Yeah, definitely two.

WE MAKE SKIS,

CAMBER A convex arch underfoot enabling the weight of the skier to generate even and concentrated pressure on the edge of ski as it contacts the snow for increased edge hold, rebound and liveliness.

ROCKER

SHAPE SHAPE - DIMENSIONS

• Waist Width - The narrowest part of the ski. Narrower waist widths tend to be more nimble, while the wider waist widths provide more float and side-to-side stability.

• Sidecut – The curvature of the ski between the tip and tail. The greater the curvature, the shorter the sidecut radius becomes, the ski with short sidecut radius turn quickly and easily, than skis with long sidecut radiuses.

• Tapered Tip/Tail - A design feature that shifts the contact points with the snow toward the midsole of the ski, reducing deflection in the tip and easing turn release in the tail.

Rocker Zone

Camber Zone

Camber Zone

• Speed Rocker – Short and low rise for added agility for quick transitions between turns.

• All-Terrain Rocker – Extended tip rise for added versatility and ease in all conditions.

• Powder Rocker – High and long rise in the tip and tail to maximize float in softer snow.

• Catch Free Rocker – Effortless turn initiation at slower speeds to aid learning.

• Jib Rocker – Enhanced pop and Ollie power

A gradual rise in the tip, and sometimes tails, of a cambered ski reducing edge contact with the snow for better maneuverability and flotation.

CORES: K2 uses a variety of wood species and blends for the energy, rebound and liveliness found in a wood ski core.

• Aspen – Lightweight with a resilient, damp, easy-to-ski nature.

• Paulownia – Lively, flexible wood with excellent weight to strength ratio.

• Bioflex- Women’s specific lightweight wood core, blending Aspen underfoot and along the perimeter of the skis with Paulownia in the tips and tails for reduced swing weight.

TECH GLOSSARY

• Maple – Energetic, tough, dense wood that absorbs impact.

• Fir – Stiff, strong, dense wood for solid edge to edge performance.

• Bamboo – Strong and damp, high density thin profile.

• ECOre – Lightweight, eco-friendly balsa core with integrated flax fiber stringers for dampening.

• Triaxally Braided- A K2-patented process the interlocks strands of fiberglass around a milled core for pronounced torsional strength, while retaining the lively flex patterns inherent in a wood ski.

• Metal Laminate- A metal laminate construction, denoted as “Ti” within our naming convention, consists of alternating layers of fiberglass and titanial to provide damp, accurate and precise performance.

• Hybritech Sidewall- Blending a sidewall construction underfoot with a full cap construction in the extremities. The sidewall section gives the ski accuracy, power and performance while the capped regions reduce overall ski weight and easy turn initiation and finish.

• Cap Construction- A molding process that envelops the core and internal materials within the top layer of the ski. Cap skis are generally lighter weight and more

forgiving.

• Carbon Web- A carbon weave stretched across the forebody and tail for added torsional rigidity.

PECISION PISTE ICONS

ALL-MOUNTAIN ICONS

FREERIDE ICONS

• Full RoX- Precision Piste construction designed to maximize stability, precision and control with:

FULL wood core to retain a lively, energetic personality FULL metal laminate for maximum power FULL length sidewalls for precise edge hold and grip FULL Carbon Grid- updated “RoX shaped carbon grid in both the fore-body and tail

for perfect suspension and increased torsional rigidity

Full Rox

• Konic Technology - Revolutionary core design that redistributes weight to the ski’s perimeter providing power, strength, and stability directly over the edge for performance, while reducing swing-weight by removing mass from the center and extremities for added ease and control. 5% reduction in weight but a 15% reduction in swing weight.

K2 Konic Technology

• Carbon Grid (iKonic 85Ti)- A carbon weave stretched across the forebody and tail for added torsional rigidity and suspension.

K2 Nanolite Konic Technology

• Nanolite (Konic Technology)- K2 Konic Technology with Nanolite is found in K2’s Freeride Pinnacle collection. It is a super lightweight, low-density aerospace grade composite core that runs through the center and extremities of the ski for reduced swing weight and added ease and control. 5% reduction in weight but a 15% reduction in swing weight.

K2 BioFlex Konic Technology

K2 Nanolite

• Bioflex Konic- Women’s specific core integrated into the Konic Technology design, with a Bioflex (Aspen and Paulownia) wood along the perimeter of the ski and Nanolite through the center for reduced swing weight with an unmatched flex profile. 5% reduction in weight but a 15% reduction in swing weight.

TEAM ICONS

BACKSIDEICONS

• Z-Clip Skin Attachment- A secure, self-centering attachment that reduces weight and speeds up transitions from skinning to skiing.

• Double Barrel- Denser core over the edge for durability combined with a less dense center core for reduced swing weight.

Fir Aspentip tail

• Asymm Tip/Tail- Asymmetric left/right tip and tail shape and taper by maintaining inside effective edge length and sidecut while reducing outside edge length for improved soft snow predictability, ease of release and butters off the tip and tail.

• Swap Base- Two different colorways on the base keep your skis unique from your friend’s.

• Park Flex Pattern- Symmetrical flex patterns for presses, ollies, and butters.

TwinTech Sidewalls

• TwinTech Sidewalls- A durable sidewall construction used on twin tip skis that makes the top sheet more resistant to ski vs. ski impact damage.

• Tip/Tail Rivets- Metal rivets for added durability.

• Skin Grommets- Fully removable plug to accommodate K2’s pre-cut skins with a Z-clip skin attachment and can be used with K2 shovels to build a rescue sled.

Skin Grommets

Carbon Web

• Carbon Web- Carbon weave laid at precise angles to retain a lightweight construction but add another level of torsional rigidity for higher performance.

SKI TECH

Carbon Boost Braidtip tail

• Carbon Boost Braid- Braided carbon pattern in the forebody and tail for added pop and rebound in the critical areas.

ECOre

• ECOre- Lightweight, eco-friendly balsa core with integrated flax fiber stringers for damping.
