Make a hanging mobile with an under-the-sea theme using items you find in your yard or in your house.

You’ll need:

• Sticks or a wire coat-hanger to make the frame • Wool, string, twine or rope to tie it together and to attach your objects • Leaves, feathers, pine cones, gumnuts, shells, pebbles or any other items you can

find at your house

Hint: you can cut fish out of cardboard boxes and decorate them or use pinecones instead. Use your imagination!

Step 1 Fix the sticks together using your string, you will need to wrap it around lots of times.

We have used two sticks to make a cross shape but you could make a square or even use a wire coat-hanger.

Step 2 Choose the pieces you want to hang from your mobile and attach a piece of string to each of them.

You’ll be able to make a hole in some items to hang them, but others will need different knots to attach them.

Step 3 Tie the different pieces to your frame.

You may find it helpful to hang your frame from the clothesline, this will help balance the weight of different objects across the mobile.

Step 4 Hang your finished mobile from a tree or somewhere in your house.
