Step 1

Step 2

Take the small glass and place it on top of the yellow card, drawing around it to make a circle.

Ask a parent to help you cut the circle out and to cut the ribbon too (make it long enough to hang around your neck like a long necklace).

Step 3Staple the ends of the ribbon to one side of the circle.

Step 4

Step 5

On the other side of the circle draw a star and write your friends name underneath.

This might get messy so lay out newspaper on the table.

Step 6Spread the glue carefully along the pencil lines only and sprinkle glitter over the top.

Step 7

Step 8

Pick your medal up and tap the edge to get rid of the leftover glitter.

Wait for it to dry then award it to your friend!

Parents’ tipsIf there isn’t enough glitter on the card put some more glue and glitter on it.

When measuring the ribbon make sure it’s long enough to rest on your child’s chest.

Simplify: Children can draw on the card using felt tips instead of using glitter and glue.

An artist who creates medals or medallions is called a “medallist”.
