Make a Digital Comic with October 7, 2014 – Presented by Chris Clark, Kaneb Center Pixton comics comprise one or more panels or scenes arranged in rows. To edit a comic, click a button or click and drag an object in a panel. You only see the buttons that relate to what you're doing. Using modes is key to Pixton. Click a character and you'll see buttons on the left side of the panel. The green one is for "edit expression mode", where you can change any body part. NOTE: Pixton is based on Flash and doesn’t work on iPads Each panel can include 1. Characters Posed body parts Facial expression Outfit (clothing) 2. Speech bubbles 3. Props 4. A background Your task for today 1. Browse to Pixton.com – at the upper left, click “Schools” and then “Login” 2. Enter your demo account screen name (the one with the underlines) and password (all capital letters) 3. Click “Open” by the "Make it Your Own" assignment, then “Remix This Comic” 4. Click the comic to begin editing (under “Edit Settings” you can go to fullscreen editing) 5. Edit the comic: fill out speech bubbles, change a character’s pose / facial expression / clothing / hair, add props, move things, zoom in, pick a new color or background, etc. 6. When you’re done, click “Save & Submit” and enter a clever (or silly) title 7. If time, make a “Pixture” for yourself click “edit” under the icon on your home page After the instructor has had time to check in the comics that have been submitted, go to the home page and click “Comics Approved” to see what other people have done. Make a Digital Comic with

Your  task  for  today
