Main Influences- Main Task

Asda Advert- George clothing range for children.

Page 3: Main influences main task

• Throughout the whole of the advert the children are shown to be having fun and being active. In the image to the right you can see that the children are jumping up in the air and the cameras has captured this movement. I was influenced by this because I feel it makes the advert more interesting rather than the typical fashion advert of the models walking towards the camera. In my advert I would like to develop some of the same ideas that have been used in this advert & put them in my advert in my own way.

• Again this image to the left shows a movement made by one of the girls in the advert, the movement has been shown in a sequence so the audience can see the movement step by step. I like the effect this creates as it has been edited in slow motion.

• Also in this shot you can see that the clothing range name “George.com” is shown at the bottom, this is shown in all of the shots, this is something I would like to include in my advert.

• Also within the advert a variety of shots are used to promote offers and deals that they have. As you can see from the image to the right there is a huge £5 sign, this draw the attention of the audience as the audience are looking for good quality clothes but at an affordable price. In my advert I will be promoting offers on clothes to get the audiences attention.

• This advert is another one from asda, the same fun atmosphere is created, as you can see from the image to the left the 3 girls are shown dancing and smiling, this allows the audience (parents) to see that the kids are happy which will then make them want to buy the clothes for their children to make them happy. In my advert I want to create the same happy atmosphere.

• The first shot that you see in this asda advert is the mums giving the children their clothes, this signifies the target audience of parent because they will be the ones buying the clothes. Also by including the parents in the advert it makes them feel like they are a part of making the children happy.

• Throughout the whole of the advert many different angles and movement of the camera are used. For example in the image to the left the shot has been taken from a high angle looking down on the children. In my advert I would like to use some of the angles that have been used in this advert to make my advert technically better.

M&S Advert- Back to school range for children

Page 11: Main influences main task

• In the M&S advert it has a very different approach to the two previous adverts, its simple and direct to the audience. In the whole of the advert the little girl is speaking to the camera as you can see from the image on the right. As I am having to make two different adverts for my main task this is a different approach that I would like to try for my second advert.

• Again in this advert a happy atmosphere is created, the young girl is shown to be happy and smiling throughout as you can see from the image. The advert is very much about the young girl feeling grown up because she’s going to school. This links to my company name as it is called “Minnie Me”, therefore I could create an advert with the theme of children feeling grown up like their parents.

• At the end of this advert the logo and slogan are shown on screen, I would like to include this in my advert, have the logo and slogan underneath on a white or black background. I want to do this because it ties the whole advert together and the last thing that will be left in the audiences mind is the name of the clothing range.
