(M&M Ltd.), a part of the US $7.1 billion Mahindra Group, today announced its highest ever sales in a month which stood at 36718 units during January 2011 as against 30149 units during January 2010, an increase of 22%. The company’s all-time high domestic sales stood at 34601 units during January 2011, as against 28988 units during January 2010, an increase of 19%. Mumbai, February 1, 2011: Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M Ltd.), a part of the US $7.1 billion Mahindra Group, today announced its highest ever sales in a month which stood at 36718 units during January 2011 as against 30149 units during January 2010, an increase of 22%. The company’s all-time high domestic sales stood at 34601 units during January 2011, as against 28988 units during January 2010, an increase of 19%. Exports have grown by 82% during the same period.
The Passenger Vehicles segment (which includes the UVs as well as the Logan) has also registered a growth of 15%, having sold 17208 units in January 2011, as against 14998 units during January 2010. The 4 wheel pick-up segment, which includes the Maxximo, Gio and the newly launched Genio have registered a growth of 18%, while the 3-wheelers segment has also grown by 37%
Speaking on the record numbers, Rajesh Jejurikar, Chief Executive, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra said, ““It is a matter of pride for us that January 2011 has been a record month for auto sales in the history of Mahindra, wherein we have sold a total of 36718 vehicles. All our brands have done exceptionally well with the Logan having clocked a sale of 1120 units which is the highest during the last 28 months. With the launch of the Genio, we hope to further consolidate our position in the pick-up segment”.
