FOREWORD

I am extremely happy in presenting the Annual Report of MSME-Development

Institute, Nagpur for the year 2011-12. The Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME)

Sector is a vital constituent of the India’s industrial sector because of its dynamic &

vibrant nature. The sustained growth of MSME sector in the post independence period

has been made possible by the special attention bestowed by the policy makers. In the

context of new challenges arising out of the impact of WTO and Globalization on the

Indian MSME’s., we yearn for the health and growth of the MSME sector.

MSME-Development Institute, Nagpur is catering to the needs of Vidarbha Region

working in Nagpur since 1970. Vidarbha Region is dominant with Iron/ Steel and Agro

based Industries mainly due to the availability of natural resources like Minerals &

Agriculture. Present Industrial population in the Region constitutes around 21911

MSMEs &LSI with an Investment of Rs. 1696469 lakhs providing an employment to

261457 persons. Looking to the local status, economical condition and emerging

opportunities in Vidarbha, need based activities for the benefit of existing Industries and

prospective Entrepreneurs are identified and accordingly MSME-DI, Nagpur organized

82 ESDPs, 13 EDPs, 71 Industrial Motivation Campaigns and 15 MDPs. Apart from these,

other programmes such as, Vendor Development Programme, MSE-CDP on Readymade

Garment Cluster at Nagpur & Seminar on Bar Code & IPR was also organized during the

year.

With the strenuous efforts of the officers of MSME-DI, Nagpur the total revenue

earnings of the institute during the year 2011-12 was Rs.367974/- through various

programmes & other activities.

The performance of the Institute was achieved with the hard work and whole-hearted

support of the officers and staff of the Institute.

I would like to place on record my appreciation for the co-operation extended by many

Government departments, Organizations and Industries Associations including the

MSME entrepreneurs. I also take this opportunity to express my deep appreciation to

all the officers and staff keeping the motto and sincere work for all the achievements.

1. ABOUT US

Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises Development Institute, Nagpur has been working

for promotion and development of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises of Vidarbha

region comprising of 11 districts viz, Akola, Amravati, Bhandara., Buldhana, Chandrapur,

Gadchiroli, Wardha, Yavatmal, Nagpur, Gondia & Washim of Maharashtra state. Govt. of

Maharashtra declared Industrial backward district except Nagpur in Vidarbha region of

Maharashtra State. MSME-DI provides services in the fields of

(2) TECHNICAL CONSULTANCY:

ASSISTANCE TO PROSPECTIVE ENTREPRENEURS:

The main objective of the Institute since its inception is to provide technical

consultancy to projective and existing entrepreneurs. MSME-DI, Nagpur provided

consultancy & guidance to 2385 prospective entrepreneurs for selection of products,

machinery/technology, location, financial assistance etc. Prospective entrepreneurs also

benefited through the lectures delivered by MSME-DI Officers at the training

Programmes organized by MSME-DI, Nagpur, Maharashtra Centre for Entrepreneurship

Development (MCED), Engineering Colleges, and Polytechnic Colleges etc.

ASSISTANCE TO EXISTING ENTREPRENEURS:

MSME-DI, Nagpur provided techno-managerial consultancy to 807 existing

entrepreneurs for Plant & Machinery including Layout, improving the manufacturing

technology/ design/ process, Improvement in quality and tooling, Product Development,

Consultancy for diversification and also for improving the managerial aspects against the

target of 375 as assigned by the Director, MSME-DI, Nagpur for the year 2011-12. This

also include activities such as improvement in Marketing, availability of finance, through

NSIC registration, capacity assessment etc.

ASSISTANCE TO WOMEN, SC, ST & Minority ENTREPRENEURS.

This office assisted 3691 women entrepreneurs, 2561 SC & 1678 ST prospective/

existing entrepreneurs through various training programmes organized by this Institute

during the year 2011-12.

(2.1) MANAGEMENT CONSULTANCY:

MSME-DI, Nagpur trained entrepreneurs representing various enterprises on

various topics of Management such as Export Marketing Procedure & Documentation,

Business Process Management, Financial Management, Managerial Excellence,

Managerial Skill,Business Strategies for Profitability, Business Management, Finance for

Non Finance Executives, MGT. Perspective and Practices for Entrepreneur, Investment Mgt.

etc. 381 entrepreneurs were also assisted in improving their managerial capability.

(3) TRAINING PROGRAMMES:

MSME-DIs is imparting varities of training programmes for first generation

potential entrepreneurs, existing industrial workers and managers. The ultimate aim is

to promote the MSME sector of the country by inculcating entrepreneurial culture in

the respective area as well as to enhance productivity of the existing industries of that

State/Area. It also provides various common facilities to existing industries of the area

and helps them in improving the techno managerial skill.

Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises Development Institute, Nagpur conducted the

Training Programmes in the field of Management & Entrepreneurship Development

during the year 2011-2012. The details of the programmes are given below:-

(4) ENTREPRENEURSHIP SKILL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMES

Comprehensive training programmes are organized to upgrade existing skills

and to create new skills in workers and technicians of existing units by organising

various technical training courses for them. The basic objective has been to provide

training to unskilled / semi-skilled workers engaged in MSE sector and to equip them

with better and improved techno-managerial skills of production. Emphasis is being

made to organize the maximum programmes in rural areas particularly for weaker

sections of the society. Specific tailor-made programmes are organized for the skill

development of socially disadvantaged groups (OBC,SC, ST, Minorities and women) in

Vidarbha region of Maharashtra State. The target groups for these programmes are

SC/ST/OBC/ women/ minorities and other weaker sections. These programmes are

also called ‘Out-Reach Programmes as these are conducted in rural/ less developed

areas.

Programmes so far organized, interalia, included on Novelty & Utility Goods,

Fashion Designing & Dress Making, Computer Hardware & Maintenance, Animation,

Bakery Products, Auto Cad, Food Products, Web Designing, Graphic Designing, Hand

Embroidery & Ari Jardosi, Herbal Cosmetics, IT Security, Desk Top Publishing, Bakery

Product, Repairs of Home Appliances, House Wiring, Repairs of Electrical Appliances,

Mfg. of Invertor, UPS, Servicing of Refrigerator & Air-conditioning, Beauty Culture,

Welding, Machine Shop Practices, Agro Products, Food Products, Mobile Repairs &

Maintenance, Xerox Machine Repair & Servicing, Ladies Garment Mfg., Two Wheeler

Repairing and others.

82 ESDPs set by the office of the Development Commissioner (MSME) the

Institute has conducted 82 ESDPs. Total 1985 nos. of participants were trained including

884 nos. women prospective entrepreneur covering all district of Vidarbha region. The

entire programmes received excellent response and high appreciation from the

prospective entrepreneurs.

(5) MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMES (MDPs)

The basic objective of imparting training in management subjects is to improve

the MSMEs in the decision making and in enhancing productivity/profitability.

Potential entrepreneurs are trained so that they can set up and run their own

enterprises. The MDPs conducted by the Institute are designed to improve the

Managerial competence of the MSMEs/Prospective Entrepreneurs.

During the year 2011-2012, against the target of 15 set by the Head Quarter, the

Institute has conducted 15 MDPs, in which 381 Prospective/ Existing Entrepreneurs

were trained. This included 151 Womens, 147 SC, and 23 ST. The MDPs conducted by

this Institute have attracted the participants from reputed MSMEs and have also been

appreciated by the leading Industries Associations & NGOs. The special programmes on

Export Marketing Procedure & Documentation, Financial Management, Managerial

Excellence, Innovative Practices on HRM, Personality Building for Business Management,

MGT. Perspective and Practices for Entrepreneur,Finance for Non Finance Executives, etc.

for MSMEs were organized by the Institute as per the details given below.

(6) INDUSTRIAL MOTIVATION CAMPAIGNS:

Industrial Motivation Campaigns are organized to identify and motivate traditional /

nontraditional entrepreneurs having potential for setting up MSEs so as to lead them

towards self-employment.

In order to motivate unemployed youth to set up their own ventures, 71 Industrial

Motivation Campaigns for enterprises development were organized in Vidarbha region

of Maharashtra State during the year 2011-12, the details of which are given in the

(7) BUSINESS SKILL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME (BSDPs):

Tailor-made courses namely Business Skill Development Programme (BSDP) has been

introduced for new Entrepreneurs through Select Business Schools/Technical

Institutions etc. The programme has been devised to encourage educated unemployed

youth/students basically from Business Schools/Technical Institutes to start self-

employment ventures of MSEs.

In order to make aware of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises and Schemes of State

Governments, Central Government & Banks to the Management and Engineering

Students to set up their own ventures, 03 BSDPs were organized during the year 2011-

(8) ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME (EDPs):

Entrepreneurship Development Programmes are being organized as a regular training

activity to cultivate the latent qualities of youth by enlightening them on various

aspects that are necessary to be considered while setting up Micro, Small & Medium

Enterprises. These programmes are conducted generally for technicians / artisans for

motivating them towards self-employment. The course contents of such

Entrepreneurship Development Programmes are so designed as to provide useful

information on product/process design, manufacturing practices involved, testing and

quality control, selection and usage of appropriate machinery and equipments, project

profile preparation,marketing avenues/techniques, product/service pricing, export

opportunities,infrastructure facilities available, financial and financial institutions,

cash flow, etc.

The EDPs conducted by the Institute are designed to improve the Entrepreneurship

competence of the Prospective Entrepreneurs. During the year 2011-2012, against the

target of 13 set by the Head Quarter, the Institute has conducted 13 EDPs, in which 333

Prospective Entrepreneurs were trained. This included 174 Womens, 152 SC, and 47 ST.

The EDPs conducted by this Institute have attracted the Prospective Entrepreneurs from

region and have also been appreciated by them.

(9) ECONOMIC INVESTIGATION:

PREPARATION / UPDATION OF DISTRICT INDUSTRIAL POTENTIAL SURVEY REPORTS &

STATE INDUSTRIAL PROFILE:

The Economic Investigation & Statistics Division of the Institute provides assistance and

guidance to visiting entrepreneurs and public on various subjects. The section look after

the work of dissemination of information and provide guidance on MSME policy, MSME

Potentiality, procedures and formalities involved in setting up of MSME Units,

incentives, schemes and facilities available with banks and various financial institutions.

The Division under- took the field survey and prepared Industrial Potential Survey

Reports of the following Districts during the year 2011-2012.

1. District Industrial Potential Survey Report of Bhandara District.

2. District Industrial Potential Survey Report of Gadchiroli District.

3. State Industrial Profile of Vidarbha Region (Maharashtra State)

The District Industrial Potential Survey Report provides up-to-date information on the

socio-economic factors of the district and also identifies the potential for setting up of

Enterprises in the districts.

(11) VENDOR DEVELOPMENT –CUM-INDUSTRIAL EXHIBITION:

Vendor Development Programmes (VDPs) are being organized to provide

common platform for MSEs as well as large public sector institutions to inter-act with

each other with a view to identifying emerging demands of the buyer organizations

simultaneously providing an opportunity for displaying the capabilities of the MSEs

and their industrial ventures. Such programmes have proved to be of immense use in

locating suitable entrepreneurs by a number of buying organizations including the

Public Sector Enterprises, various wings of Defence, Railways and others in

indigenizing a number of products which hitherto have been imported at a colossal

cost.

Total 43 nos. of representatives from MSMEs and Members of various

Industries Association of Bhandara district were present and revenue of Rs. 4,300/- from

43 nos. of participants and Rs. 5000/- from M/s Sunflag Iron & Steel Co. Ltd, received

and remitted to the Govt. account. Shri S.R.Khujnare, Asstt.Director, MSME-DI, Nagpur

co-ordinated the programme and Shri A.G.Telang, Asstt.Director (Met) has proposed the

Vote of Thanks.

(III) MSME Development Institute, Nagpur organized state level Vendor

Development Programme on 16 March 2012 at Hotel Heritage, Nagpur.

Programme was inaugurated by Shri. K R K Prasad, Director MSME-DI,

Nagpur. Shri. D N Gupta, President, MIDC Industries Association, Shri. P M

Parlewar, DD (Met), Shri M P Singh, Chief Manager (MM) WCL and Shri Vipul

Panchmatiya, Secretary, Nagpur Garment Manufacturing Association was

motivated participants during the occasion.

Following PSUs and organizations presented their vendor Development

procedure & stores requirement and schemes in technical sessions:

(12) THE SCHEMES OF INCENTIVE FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF ISO-9000

CERTIFICATION CHARGES:

The scheme envisages one time reimbursement of charges for acquiring ISO

9000/14001/HACCP (or its equivalent) certification to the extent of 75% of the

cost subject to a maximum of Rs.75000/- in total. The following units got ISO-

9000 certification and subsequently they applied to this Institute for re-

(18) CLUSTER DEVELOPMENT IN VIDARBHA REGION OF MAHARASHTRA

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) in its meeting held on 28th

January 2010 approved the modifications in the guidelines of Micro & Small

Enterprises- Cluster Development Programme (MSE-CDP). The modifications in the

guidelines of the MSE-CDP have been notified vide this office Order no.

1(17)/SICDP/Cluster/TM/2006 dated 10th February 2010. The major modifications are:

(i) Enhancement of the maximum project cost for Common Facility Centre (CFC) from

Rs.10 crore to Rs.15 crore, with GoI contribution of 70% (90% for Special Category

States and for clusters with more than 50% women/micro/village/SC/STunits);

(ii) Enhancement of the maximum project cost for Infrastructure Development from

Rs.5 crore to Rs.10 crore, with GoI contribution of 60% (80% for Special Category

States and for clusters with more than 50% women/micro/SC/ST units);

(iii) Enhancement of the maximum project cost for Soft Interventions from Rs.10 lakh

to Rs.25 lakh, with GoI contribution of 75% (90% for Special Category States and for

clusters with more than 50% women/micro/ village/SC/ST units); and

(iv) Enhancement of the cost ceiling for preparation of Detailed Project Report

(DPR) for CFC and/or Infrastructure Development to Rs.5 lakh.

2007 for Soft-Intervention at a total project cost of Rs. 10 lakhs or actual for a period of

3 years subject to a 10% of the Soft Intervention is to be born by the State Govt. or

Industries Association.

Accordingly, the Readymade Garment Cluster in Nagpur region has been

identified by the MSME-DI, Nagpur in 2008. The Readymade Garment Cluster consists

of around 500 Nos. of working units manufacturing Readymade Garments, concentrated

in East Nagpur area. The estimated annual of turnover of cluster is around 700 corers &

export to the extent of Rs. 10 corers. The cluster is providing employment to around

300 persons directly and indirectly. The product i.e. Readymade Garment

Manufacturing in Cluster is marketed namely in entire Vidarbha and adjacent states like

Chhattisgarh, M.P., A.P., etc.

As per the 2nd

year Action Plan for 2009-10, the financial sanction of Rs. 3.175

lakhs received by this Institute from 0/o DC (MSME), New Delhi for carrying out the Soft-

intervention in the readymade garment cluster under MSE-CDP during 2009-10. Out of

which, total amount of Rs. 81,468/- spent for carrying out the Soft Intervention activities

on Readymade Garment Cluster during the year 2009-10.

As per the 3rd

year action plan for 2010-11, the financial sanction of Rs 1.80 lacks

as GOI assistance received by MSME DI from 0/o DC (MSME) New Delhi for carrying out

soft intervention in Ready Made Garments cluster under MSE – CDP during 2010-11.

Under the MSE-CDP, the MSME DI Nagpur has benefited & Selected Garment

Cluster in Amravati & financial sanction received from O/o DC (MSME) for preparation

of DSR vide Sanction letter No: 1(14)/CDD/CDP/2009 dated 9th

July, 2010.

The draft DSR is prepared by MSME DI Nagpur & Submitted to O/o of DC (MSME)

New Delhi on 10.10.2010.

After examined the report O/o DC (MSME) New Delhi, directed the MSME DI

Nagpur for validation of draft DSR through SPV, Association members & other govt.

officers.

Accordingly the validation meeting was organized on 17/01/11 with all govt.

officers of KVIC, DIC, NSIC, Govt. Engg. College. Government polytechnic, ITI &

Association member in presence of Dy. Secretary, Ministry of MSME New Delhi & Dy.

Director (Incharge) MSME DI Nagpur & DSR got validated & final copy sent to O/o DC

(MSME) New Delhi on 17.02.2011 for approval.

The report includes proposed 18 months action plan for carrying out soft

intervention activities for trust building among entrepreneurs of garment cluster,

Amravati.

The following activities/meeting has been undertaken by MSME DI Nagpur

during the year 2011-12 for Garment Cluster, Amravati.

One day Motivation campaign for Garment Cluster, Amravati was organized on 5th

March, 2012. Shri P.M.Parlewar, Dy.Director, MSME-DI, Nagpur was present as Chief

Guest. Shri Girish Umap, Joint Director of Inds, Govt. of Maharashtra, Amravati was also

present during the Campaign. Total 12 nos. of participants were present from Cluster

associations. This programme was organized under Soft Intervention activities of MSE-

CDP. Sh. S.R.Khujnare, A.D.(Met) co-ordinated the programme.

A Meeting was held on 16/05/2011 with the members of association of M/s.

Amravati Garment Manufacturers’ Association, Amravati at Hotel Grace Inn,

Amravati under the Chairmanship of Shri P.M. Parlewar, Dy. Director (I/c),

MSME-DI, Nagpur and Officers of this Institute for the progress of Readymade

Garment Cluster activities at Amravati District.

& it’s registration & preparation of DPR for CFC. Chairman asked the members of

association to expedite the process of completion of formation of SPV & it’s

1) O/o DC (MSME) New Delhi has conveyed the administrative approval vide letter

No. 1(53)/CDD/Chandrapur/2009-PT Dt 25/2/11, for setting up of common facility

centre (CFC) in fly ash cluster Chandrapur Maharashtra at a total cost of Rs. 1537.78

lakhs with GOI Assistance as grant in aid amounting to Rs. 1350.00 lakhs (90% of the

approved project cost). Non Recurring as per approval by the 24th

steering committee of

MSE-CDP in its meeting held on 24th

Dec., 2010.

It has been proposed to set up common facility centre with the following facilities:

1) Common processing centre

2) Common testing laboratory

3) Common training centre

4) Common marketing centre

According to O/o DC (MSME) New Delhi sanction letter No. 1(53)/CDD/

Chandrapur/2009-PT Dt. 25/02/11. The O/o General Manager, DIC Chandrapur has

constituted the purchase committee under the chairmanship of joint Director of

Industries, Govt. of Maharashtra, Nagpur.

The meeting was organized on 6/4/2011 under the chairmanship of Joint

Director of Industries, Nagpur region to finalized the following points

1) Preparation of Tripartite agreement amongst SPV, State Govt. and Central

Govt.

2) Preparation of tender documents in r/o technical specification and its

terms & condition.

(19) ESDP ON BIO-TECHNOLOGY:

ESDP on BIOTECHNOLOGY was organized from 11/11/11 to 22/12/11 at Centre of

Science for Villages, Wardha. The other guest was Dr. Sohan Pandya, Director, Centre of

Science for villages, Duttapur, Wardha.Total 25 participants (General: 01, SC: 12,ST: 01,

OBC:11, Women: 14) and a revenue of Rs.1,400/- was realized. Shri S.R.Khujnare, Asstt.

Director (Met.) coordinated the programme.

(20) SKILL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME:

MSME-DI Workshop consist of One Lathe Machine, One Milling machine is looked after

by one Instructor and one helper. Total revenue of Rs.5523/- was earned by the

workshop by job work.

1. Six months SDP on Machinist Trade was organized from 1/3/11 to 31/8/11 at

Nagpur. Total 15 Nos Participants (5-SC, 1- ST, 5-Gen, 1-Min & 3-OBC) were benefitted

through the programme and revenue of Rs.7200/- was realized

2. Six months SDP on Machinist Trade was organized from 1/9/11 to 29/2/12 at

Nagpur. Total 15 Nos Participants (07-SC , 02-ST, 03-OBC and 03- Gen.) were benefitted

through the programme and revenue of Rs.6300/- was realized.

(21) TRAINING PROGRAMME ON PACKAGING FOR EXPORTS:

Three Days Training programmme on Packaging for Exports:

To educate SSI Entrepreneurs about the scientific packing techniques, latest

design of packing technology and improve their packaging standards, the training

programmes on packaging for exports were introduced during 1979. To highlight the

importance of packaging in marketing, this office has been organizing specialized

training programmes on packaging for exports for MSEs in collaboration with Indian

Institute of Packaging (IIP), Mumbai.

This Institute organized three days workshop on PACKAGING FOR EXPORTS from 23/11/11 to 25/11/11 at Nagpur. Total 29 Participants were benefitted through the program and revenue of Rs8000/- was earned. It was coordinated by Shri S.R.Khujnare, Asstt. Director (Met.)

(22) One Day Seminar / Sensitization Programme on Bar Code :

The objective of the ‘Marketing Assistance/ Support to MSEs’ scheme of NMCP

is to popularize the Bar Code registration and motivate the Small and Micro

Manufacturing Enterprises to adopt the Bar Code Certification on large scale and to

sell their value added products worldwide and enable higher export price realization.

It also helps in domestic marketing (wholesale & retail). 75% of annual fee (recurring)

of Bar Code certification for the first three years are reimbursed to Micro & Small

Entrepreneurs, under the Scheme.

1/ One Day Seminar on Bar Code was organized by this Institute on 16/10/11 at Nagpur. It was inaugurated by Shri K.R.K. Prasad, Director, MSME-DI, Nagpur and Shri P.M.Parlewar, Dy. Director (Met.), MSME-DI, Nagpur delivered the talk on NMCP Schemes . Total 32 Entrepreneurs were benefitted through the programme and revenue of Rs 3200/- was earned. The objective of “Building Awareness on Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs)” for

the MSMEs is to create and enhance awareness about IPRs among the MSMEs so as to

enable them to take appropriate measure for protecting their ideas and business

strategies and also avoiding infringement of the intellectual property belonging to

others. The scheme provides financial assistance for taking up the following identified

initiatives :

(1) Awareness/ Sensitisation Programmes on IPRs;

(2) Pilot Studies for Selected Clusters/Groups of Industries;

(3) Interactive Seminars/Workshops;

(4) Specialized Training;

(5)Assistance for Grant of Patent/GI Registration;

(24) Workshop on WTO:

A one day workshop on WTO was organized by MSME Development

Institute, Nagpur on 04.11.2011 at Hotel Centre Point, Nagpur. Forty

eight entrepreneurs of small and medium Industries in Vidarbha region

attended the workshop.

The objective of the sensitization workshop was to keep abreast and

updated with regard to the WTO agreements, disseminate information

to MSME Associations and MSME units regarding recent developments

in view of implementation of WTO agreements and preparing them to

face the challenges arising out of globalization.

The programme was inauguration by Shri KRK Prasad, Director, MSME

Development institute, while Shri D.N.Gupta, President, MIDC

Industries Association; Dr Gajavelli V.S., Chairperson, International

Relations IMT Nagpur were Guest of Honors of the function.

During inauguration shri KRK Prasad explained the participants about

how WTO is directly as well as indirectly affecting the Small and

Medium Industry . To counter the things MSMEs need to understand

the various agreements by WTO, he added further.

The inauguration was followed by four technical sessions Viz WTO and

Indian Industry; Anti Dumping procedures; Ministerial Conferences on

WTO and Trade Related Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPs). Dr.

Gajacelli V.S. Professor Economics & Finance IMT Nagpur, Shri

H.N.Wadetiwar Joint DGFT , Dr. R.Y.Mahore Director, G.H.Raisoni

School of Management, Dr. U.Guha IPR Attorney were the speakers of

technical sessions. The question and answer session was held after the

technical sessions.

Shri Jitendrasingh Rajput, NID, Ahmedabad, delivered lecture on

details of Design Clinic Scheme & application in Steel furniture sector, it’s

potential in overall growth of the cluster of steel furniture in particular.

Shri Suresh Navadkar, Expert Designer form Bangalore & Shri Rahul

Deshpande, Lead Designer from M/s. Wipro Furnitures, Bangalore also

gave their presentations focusing on the benefits of Design Clinic

scheme. A total of 55 participants including 35 from various industries

attended the seminar.

2/ National Institute of Design & Maharashtra Centre for Entrepreneurship Development organized the Design Awareness Programme for Steel, Modular, Office, Hospital and Institutional Furniture Manufacturers of Nagpur region from 17/01/2012 to 21/01/2010 at Nagpur. Shri K.R.K.Prasad, Director, MSME-DI, Nagpur inaugurated the function and illustrate the objective of Design Scheme of Ministry of MSME. It is supported by Vidarbha Industries Association (VIA), Butibori Manufactureres Industries Association, MIDC Industries Association and Nagpur Steel & Furniture Manufacturing Association.

1/ District Industries Centre, Bhandara organized a “ UdyogMitra “

meeting with the Industrialist & State Govt. Officers on 22/6/2011 at

Collector Office Bhandara. Collector Bhandara took the review about

progress of work.. Shri S.R.Khujnare, Asstt. Director (Met.) attended the

meeting.

2/ Shri K.R.K.Prasad, Director, MSME-DI, Nagpur presided over two functions viz. Engineers Day and Consumer Awareness Programme organized by Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Nagpur at Yavatmal on 15/9/11. Director, MSME-DI, Nagpur delivered a talk on Role of MSME-DI for the promotion and Development of MSMEs including NMCP Schemes. Shri Vasantraoji Purke, Dy. Speaker, Maharashtra State Assembly was the Chief Guest of the programme. The venue was Chemist Bhavan, Shivaji Nagar, Yavatmal. Hri M.P.Kawale and Shri K.Raja, Directors from BIS, Nagpur also were present.

3/ KVIC, Nagpur organized Khadi Bazar at Nagpur. It was inaugurated on 30/12/2011 by Shri Sureshbhau Deshmukh, MLA & Vice President of Vidarbha Irrigation Corporation, Nagpur. The other guest were Dr. Vilas Sapkal, Vice Chancellor, RTMU, Nagpur and Dr. Vibha Gupta, Technical Member KVIC. Shri K.R.K.Prasad, Director, MSME-DI, Nagpur, Shri Milind Wakode, Director, KVIC, Nagpur were present in the function. 4/ RTM Nagpur University organized one day seminar on Employment Opportunities in Vidarbha Region on 16/1/12 at Campus, Nagpur. Dr Vilas Sapkal, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, RTMNU, Nagpur presided over the the function. Shri K.R.K.Prasad, Director, MSME-DI, Nagpur was attended as Guest of Honour. He also motivated the youths for self Employment. Shri P.M.Parlewar, Dy. Director gave the power point presentation about the schemes of DC (MSME). 5/ Vidarbha Productivity Council has organized meeting of all development agency on 31/1/12 under the Chairmanship of Dr Vilas Sapkal, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, RTMNU, Nagpur. It was attended by Shri P.M.Parlewar, Dy. Director, MSME-DI, Nagpur. The various issues related

Director gave the details of services rendered by MSME-DI, Nagpur. 6/ One Day Seminar on “Prospects of Vocational Training in the Unorganised Sector” was organized on 13/01/2012 at Nagpur by CHURCH of North India- Social Service Institute (CNISSI). Shri K.R.K.Prasad, Director, MSME-DI, Nagpur was present at the function as a Chief Guest. He explained the need of Skill Labour in MSMEs sector and gave the details of services rendered by MSME-DI, Nagpur. About 64 NGO participated in programme and benefitted with consultation. 7/ Shri K.R.K.Prasad, Director and Shri P.M.Palewar, Dy. Director ,

MSME-DI, Nagpur attended the Foundation Day of MIA (Industries

Association), Hingana, Nagpur on 2/2/2012.

8/ Shri P.M.Palewar, Dy. Director , MSME-DI, Nagpur attended

Central Information Commission, New Delhi on 6/2/2012 regardingAppeal

under RTI Act.

9/ Shri K.R.K.Prasad, Director and Shri P.M.Palewar, Dy. Director ,

MSME-DI, Nagpur attended video conferencing at NIC, Nagpur on

8/2/2012 with Central Information Commissioner for the appeal under RTI

Act.

10/ Shri P.M.Palewar, Dy. Director , MSME-DI, Nagpur attended 29

steering committee meeting on cluster Development at New Delhi under

the Chairmanship of Secretary, M/o MSME, Govt. of India wherein the

proposal of Bamboo Cluster, Gadchiroli & Chandrapur and Dall Mill

Cluster, Nagpur is approved.

11/ Shri P.M.Palewar, Dy. Director , MSME-DI, Nagpur attended meeting with Dr. Vilas Sapkal, Vice Chancellor, RTM Nagpur University regarding signing of MOU and formation of Networking with Nagpur Based Cluster.

(27) PROGRESS OF NMCP SCHEMES

NATIONAL MANUFACTURING COMPETITIVENESS PROGRAMME ( NMCP ) The Government has announced formulation of National Competitiveness

Programme in 2005 with an objective to support the Small and Medium Enterprises

(SMEs) in their endeavour to become competitive and adjust the competitive pressure

caused by liberalization and moderation of tariff rates.

The National Manufacturing Competitiveness Council (NMCC) has

conceptualized and finalized the components of the programme incorporating suitable

inputs from the stakeholders. The National Manufacturing Competitiveness

Programme (NMCP), as conceptualized by the NMCC, was accepted by the

Government and announced for implementation in the Budget 2006-07. Under NMCP,

ten components / schemes have been formulated, the details of which are outlined as

under:-

1. Marketing Support / Assistance to MSME (Bar Code)

One day awareness programme on Bar Code was organized on 16/10/11 and

3/1/12 at Nagpur and Amravati respectively. Total participants benefited by this

programme was 62, Revenue generated Rs. 6200/-.

Mahatma Ghandhi, Institute for Rural Industrialization (MGIRI), Maganwadi,

Wardha is approved as Business Incubator.MGIRI organizes meeting on 01.12.2010 at
