About MAHAR• Founded in 2016 by The Honourable Dato’ Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Bin
Hamidi, Former Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia.
• Created to aid and empower those who are facing humanitarian crisis as
well as those who are in need of assistance, which includes Syrian
migrants under our special program, refugees and local community.
• Promotes youth development through partnering with youth
volunteering program initiated by Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS),
besides providing a platform for aspiring youths to experience
volunteerism.

Abstract
The idea of establishing a humanitarian center; MAHAR Humanitarian Center (MHC) came
across when MAHAR foresees its task in managing Syrian migrants under the temporary
relocation program; PPSMS organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN). MHC is a one-
stop humanitarian center for Syrian migrants registered under PPSMS, refugees and local
community, which offers medical assistance services, education, community management as
well as psycho-social support.
