Process
Magnesite is converted to MgO by calcining at around 400 deg C
MgCl from concentrated sea water or mined from old sea beds
MgO+MgCl etc are mixed to a paste (MOC) Paste is poured onto a mold with mesh embedded After several days rigid board is ready to process Cured boards are trimmed and sanded to finish size

Features of MOC cements Carbon neutral Very high early strength, final strength up to 10,000 psi Binds structurally with cellulose & minerals No carcinogens, binders, resins Unaffected by oil, grease, chemicals, paints. Actively antimicrobial

MagO board test summary Highly fire resistant, certified to UL-C W490 Non Combustible, S-135 0 smoke developed, E-84 Impervious to wetting, E-72 Structural, C-1185, E-72, E-330 Non toxic, U-Pitt No VOC, D-5116 Mold mildew proof, D-3273 Expansion / contraction,
(MagO board has taken over 30 different tests)

Processing
Carbide tipped saws and routers Score and snap with disposable snap-off blades Power sand Nail guns, staple guns Screws Adhesives
Ethical sustainable materials for better buildings
Benefits One board replaces 6 types of gypsum and all fiber-cement Very low expansion or contraction <0.04% moisture
or .002% temperature Suitable for freeze thaw locations Very easy to work using standard carpenter or drywall tools No out gassing, good for sensitive people Much less impact damage, fewer repairs Easier on workers, non toxic, less dust
Ethical sustainable materials for better buildings
More Benefits Every wall becomes a 1 hr fire separation Buildings are stronger Safe from water damage Easy to mount shelves or grab bars with no backing or
plugs Fully recyclable or use as a soil additive, no toxic waste Faster construction Able to add fire walls during framing with no extra cost

For recommended uses MagO boards can be shown to be Acceptable Solutions via benchmarking against all accepted materials with regard to the Functional Statements and Objectives in Division B, NBC 2010.
Supplement to NBC 2010 Intent Statements provide additional explanations.
Tests and performance are evaluated with regard to Function and Objective requirements as per Division B, Appendix A and Intent and Application Statements.
Ongoing testing to support research projects in Fire, Acoustical and Moisture performance.
