World Pasta Day
What better way to celebrate one of our favorite foods other than learning to make it from scratch..
Memory Lane “Singing for the
brain” Club
We would like to say a big thank you to Otto-Schiff singing club for their excellent sessions – Our residents are greeted with tea & biscuits to get us warmed up for singing our hearts out!
Wild Science We had a visit from Wild Science who brought a
diverse range of animals from the cute and fluffy to the exotic.
Fresh Air
It’s important for our residents to enjoy autumn by being out in it! Watching the colours change and the leaves fall, dogs playing, floating around Childs Hill tree trail, learning the names of the trees and sharing nature knowledge, like the names of the birds and flowers. Diana picked us a Michaelmas Daisy!
Bill the snake charmer & tiny frog friend

We celebrated the festival of light by making ‘Rangolis’. We dyed rice and made beautiful colorful patterns with our Hindu carer Sonali.

THE BIG 100 A very big Happy Birthday to a very special lady, she has been an excellent resident from the get go, so helpful to others and always up for fun. We love Betty so much we made her resident Ambassador of Magnolia Court. We asked Betty what’d kept her so young and she said “Maxfactor, darling.” - What an amazing lady you are Betty – Happy 100th Birthday!
Halloween Things got a bit spooky making decorations here at Magnolia with Bills “Boxer pumpkin – that’s had his teeth knocked out and a black eye” (Don’t mess with Bill) & Milton’s eerie Pumpkin “Philip”.

A great day for Team Barchy
A huge congratulations to the Barchester staff members who completed the London 10k in scorching heat this summer. The atmosphere in Central London was fantastic, with Westminster shut down to traffic and transformed into a moving street party of thousands of people running, cheering and laughing. The runners were also extremely busy fundraising ahead of the big day, smashing their target and raising an absolutely fantastic £2,119 for Barchester’s Charitable Foundation, plus gift aid.
