Film Magazine Research
• Which film magazines are there?
• Publication profile - what types of film and content do they feature?
![Page 3: Magazine research and planning](https://reader035.vdocuments.mx/reader035/viewer/2022062707/5583b65ad8b42a55028b4d7e/html5/thumbnails/3.jpg)
Film Magazine Research
• Who are their readers? Try to find some readership info - publishers usually make this information available for advertisers so do some searching in the business section of the magazine publisher's website.
• As a result of the above, you need to decide which one is most likely to feature your film on the cover.
• Explain this on your journal and then focus on that magazine for the next bit...

Film Magazine Cover Analysis
• What design and layout conventions are there across different covers of the same magazine?

Film Magazine Cover Analysis
• Annotate at least one film magazine cover to show how it is laid out and the elements it contains.
• Add annotations to show an analysis of how media language is used, and in particular, how it targets a particular audience.
• Explain how the above informs your own planning.

Drafting/Layout design
• Consider how your own magazine should be laid out, taking into consideration the conventions of the magazines you researched.
• Do a rough draft (or several) on paper or digitally to show the different elements you would include.
