I like this, as the main colour used makes it stand out from other adverts.I think they should have made the name more prominent, as not everyone would know who ‘Foals’ are and changed the font to a different one to the one used for the name of the single so it stands out.I don’t think the drawings distract from the writing, as the writing is on a plain background and in big size font.

As Paul Weller is very well-known, his name is the biggest part of the ad and a photo of him is next to the type (which is a simple font and doesn’t cover his face) which makes him more important and so when people flick through the magazine they will see the name first, then the details.I like this style as it’s simple, but as Ed Sheeran isn’t very well-known I would need to add more information and have a bigger photo.

I like this advert, as it’s simple.She’s not well-known, so the image of her takes up half of the space and is the main focus, as well as the title of the single ‘in sleep’ which is in bold.Even though there is not much information, the information given is simple and the only information the reader needs to know – if they want to know more they could go to her website, which is stated.As Ed Sheeran is unsigned I would have to give more information such as reviews and what is on the Digipak.

With the main part of this advert being red, it stands out from many others and although the name of the band isn’t a bright colour, it still contrasts with the background which makes it easy to read and recognise.Like the advert before, only the essential information is given. This makes it easy to read and lets the reader know what it is, who they are and where/how you can download the album.

For my advert I think I will use the same image as on the outside cover of the Digipak, because the person who buys the Digipak will be able to recognise it from the style of the advert.

I want the advert to be simple, but still stand out. I will achieve this by using bright orange text to contrast with the Sepia toned image (house style).
