Day 2: Enjoy three nights in Madrid – a city that features a unique blend of modern and cosmopolitan balanced

with remarkable history and tradition. Our accommodations are at the conveniently located 4-star Catalonia Atocha Hotel. This evening, enjoy an included dinner to cap off your first full day! (D)

Day 3: We’ll begin our day with a tour highlighting two of Madrid’s most iconic squares. The Puerta del Sol is

one of the best places to see and feel the liveliness of the city due to the popularity of this plaza. Along with ample

people-watching opportunities, you’ll also find El Orso y El Madroño (the Bear & the Strawberry Tree), a statue

that has become the symbol of Madrid. Located just a few blocks away in the city center, the famous cobble-

stoned Plaza Mayor features an abundance of shops & cafes under its perfect porticos. Later, enjoy a tour of the Royal Palace – a lavish 3,000 room residence that features a Royal Chapel, Armory, Chemist’s Room and Throne

Hall. The rest of the day will be free to explore the downtown area. (B)

Day 4: After breakfast, we’ll make the short trip to the ‘Imperial City’ of Toledo. Perched high on a hill that affords

fantastic views of the Tagus River below, this UNESCO World Heritage Site boasts a remarkable history. You'll

see the Gothic cathedral, the 13th century synagogue (considered to be one of the oldest in Europe), and stop at

the Church of Santa Tome to view some masterpieces of El Greco, one of the Renaissance’s master painters. This

evening enjoy a delightful dinner back in Madrid. (B, D)

Day 5: This morning, we’ll travel to the Moorish city of Cordoba, an ancient city that owes its extraordinary

beauty to the influences of Muslim, Jewish and Christian cultures. Visit the Mezquita – originally a mosque built in

the 8th century, followed by a cathedral placed right in the middle of the structure in the 16th century. The sheer

beauty and uniqueness of this structure cannot be overstated…you genuinely must see it to believe it! We’ll then

discover the Jewish Quarter with its medieval narrow streets lined with shops, cafes and flowers. After our

exploration of this incredible city, we’ll drive to the 4-star Melia Leberos Hotel, for a memorable two night stay

in the heart of Seville. (B,D)

Day 6: Explore the charismatic capital of Andalucia today during a wonderful tour of the lively city of Seville

(founded some 3,000 years ago by the Greek God Hercules according to legend). It is a city that truly feels “alive”

with music, dancing and even bullfighting thriving here. See Christopher Columbus' tomb, the spectacular

Cathedral, Santa Cruz Quarter, Plaza de Espana and Maria Luisa Park. This evening enjoy dinner and an

authentic flamenco show. (B,D)

Day 7: After breakfast, travel across the Sierra Nevada mountain range to Granada where we’ll visit the world-

famous Alhambra Palace. Here you’ll find intricately carved details, flowing fountains, exquisite architecture and

more in one of the most iconic buildings in the world. Located nearby is The Generalife – a verdant, peaceful

garden that historically served as a place many kings came for a brief respite. We’ll spend the night in this

astonishing city at the Hotel Carmen. (B,D)

Day 8: Today we journey across Spain's amazing rolling hills landscape toward the Mediterranean coast and

beautiful Valencia. This city really has it all – contemporary and futuristic buildings juxtaposed with a charming

old quarter, a greenway that runs through the city with farmland that frames it, and a most delectable culinary

scene. Our walking tour here includes the old quarter, the Central Market (one of the oldest in Europe) and La

Lonja – the silk exchange, which was declared a UNESCO Word Heritage Site. Overnight in Valencia at the Hotel Tryp Valencia Feria or similar. (B,D)

Day 9: The enchanting Mediterranean city of Barcelona is our next stop. It is a place that will dazzle the senses.

Today, you’ll visit the city’s most famous landmark – one that helped earn Barcelona the Royal Gold Medal for its

unparalleled architecture. The Basilica de la Sagrada Familia, Antoni Gaudi's unfinished masterpiece, has been

under construction for over 130 years, though this unfinished marvel continues to captivate all who gaze upon it.

Two nights accommodations are provided in this most impressive city at the Ayre Hotel Gran Via. (B,D)

Day 10: Our guided tour of Barcelona will continue this morning featuring Parc de Montjuic (home to the 1992

Olympics, a fort, botanical gardens and more!), Passeig de Gracia and the Columbus Monument. Take a look for

yourself and decide where you think Columbus is pointing – toward India, his hometown of Genoa or simply out

at the ocean. Later enjoy free time to discover Barcelona’s charms on your own. This evening, we’ll gather for a

memorable farewell dinner. (B,D)

Day 11: Today, we’ll bid adios to this wonderful country and transfer to the airport for our return flight home. (B)
