MADHU YALAMARTHI
DIRECTOR, PRODUCT AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Madhu is the Director of Product and Business Development for the Institute for Transformative Technologies and leads the development of products and business models across program areas.
Prior to joining ITT, Madhu worked at the Ethiopian Agricultural Transformation Agency (ATA), an advisory and high-‐priority project implementation unit reporting to the Prime Minister of Ethiopia. At ATA, Madhu led teams of local analysts and technical experts to design, deliver, and support flagship projects of the government. Some key projects include designing the country’s over USD 500 million strategic food reserve agency that can hold upto 1.5 million mt of food reserves, planning of the Agricultural Commercialization Cluster (ACC) initiative that has positively impacted nearly 2 million households, and development of farmer markets and innovative sales channels for five large farmer cooperatives in Ethiopia. He also led the development of a knowledge management system and revamped the analyst training program.
Before ATA, Madhu worked at Dalberg, a strategy consulting firm focused on global development. While at Dalberg, he worked on projects for large corporations, multilateral agencies, public-‐private coalitions, and investment funds on energy, water and sanitation, cook stoves, agriculture, and low cost housing.
Madhu has a Bachelors in Aerospace Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) -‐ Kharagpur. At IIT, Madhu was part of the leadership team at the Entrepreneurship Cell (E-‐cell), which is India's most active entrepreneurship promoting student body and has produced 25+ start-‐ups.
Madhu was born and raised in a small village in South India. He enjoys binge-‐watching American TV shows and traveling completely off the grid.
