lines Rhyme
Time
Rhyming Words Part of the fun of this story is that it rhymes! Discuss rhyme with your student. Do you have other rhyming stories at your house? Find them and read them! Directions: Cut out pieces on solid black lines. Stack together with cover on top and staple on left side. Find words that rhyme with the words on the tabs and record them on the lines.

Madeline Math You can use the girls on the next page as manipulatives to play math! Use them for simple addition and subtraction problems. Have them line up in two rows. How many will be in each row? What if they lined up in three rows? Four rows?

Art Lesson ~ Monochromatic Illustrations Look through the illustrations in this story. What stands out to your student? Some of the illustrations are monochromatic (only one color is used). Print this free printable from Crayola twice. Ask your student to color one how-ever he wants, but to color the other choosing just one color (various shades can be used).
Geography ~ France (next page) There are two Tour de France books; one with cursive writing and one with manuscript. Choose the one that is most beneficial for your student.

Fold like an accordion. Tie a ribbon around the book
so that the bow is in the front. Paste back to your
lapbook. Untie the ribbon to open the book.

Math: Telling Time & Health: Routines and Habits The girls have routines and habits. They go on a walk every day at 9:30, and they “break their bread, brush their teeth, and go to bed.” What does your typical day look like? Use the clocks to map out your day. Choose five morning (a.m.) activities and five afternoon/evening (p.m.) activi-ties. Complete each clock face to show the time you do your activity. Under the flap, write the name of the activity: wake up, eat breakfast, start school, etc. Assembly Directions: Cut on solid lines. Fold on dotted. There will be two separate books when you finish.
Health: Healthy Habits Chart What healthy habits did Madeline and her friends have? (brushed their teeth, exercised each day, etc.). Discuss healthy habits with your student (eating plenty of fresh food, getting good sleep, etc.). If desired, use the Healthy Habits Chart, and ask your student to record his habits on the chart.
