It takes place at the National Trust’s Tyntesfield Estate in Wraxall on 1 and 2 October, from 10am to 4pm. The aim of the Showcase, organised by North Somerset Council’s Economic Development Service, is to celebrate the rich variety of producers, artists and craftspeople in North Somerset, from the artisan to those who now export worldwide. There will be 47 stallholders over the weekend and you will have the opportunity to sample, buy and talk to a wide variety of producers and artists in the beautiful surroundings of the Tyntesfield Estate. There will be music, theatre, story- telling and hands-on activities, morning and afternoon on both days including: M Storytelling fun with Director of Somerset Storyfest, Michael Loader M Theatre company Fine Chisel performing “Flit, Flap and Fly” – a squawking adventure that follows a young chick’s frantic and funny journey towards independence, under the watchful eye of his fine- singing father. Bursting with live music and sited in a giant nest, this is a chance to learn birdsong, share a worm supper, and get ready to take flight for the first time. M Somerset Bodgers – based at Tyntesfield, produce a variety of products from green timber. They will demonstrate a variety of traditional and modern techniques. M Apple pressing with Transition Portishead – have a go at apple pressing and sample your efforts! Please bring your own apples and a container. 10am-4pm in the Lower Courtyard.
