What is Techshare ?

• A conference and exhibition discussing accessibility and assistive technology at a national and regional level with international participation.

• To support the strategy and aim of Mada to create an inclusive society that does not discriminate against people with disabilities. Techshare ME 2014 will focus on implementation of existing and new technologies and will work towards closing the gap that exists today.

Themes• Education – Whether it is primary, secondary, college level or vocational

education, we need to understand how to innovate and adapt the existing and new technology to support learners with disabilities.

• Employment – For employers today, equal opportunity is key, how do we integrate people with disabilities into the workplace wherein there are numerous hurdles that people. How can assistive technology be adapted and implemented so as to create an inclusive workplace.

• Independent Living – Technology that enhances the daily life of people with a disability providing full access to social opportunities, safety and indpendence

• Accessible technology – With technology evolving so fast, ensuring that people with disabilities are included and that web, mobile or any technology is accessible is the key question.

• Laws, Policies & Standards – What is the current place of policy and standards in Qatar and what direction should they take in the future ?

• Innovation - Research and development can bring a whole new meaning to accessible technologies.
