What is macrophotography?
Macro photography is an extreme close up photography.
This type of photography usually consists of very small objects.
The significance of being able to photograph small objects using a macro lens, is to be able to see the details that aren’t visible to
the naked eye.

National geographics was originated as a society for people to get involved with the planet. The objective is to raise awareness of environmental issues and the importance of these natural places. There was a website created to give people the opportunity to be involved. With this being said, national geographics holds contests for people to send in their pictures. One of these contests were a macro contest. The images above show photos from the macro contest. These images are enlarged and magnified in order to show the details. These pictures involve mostly enlarged cells.

Justin Johnstone is a well known photographer who passed away from his battle with cystic fibrosis. After his death in the year of 2008, his family and friends felt that it was best to keep his website available to those of who will continue to admire and appreciate his work.
