Welcome to the 42nd annual Mackenzie Red Angus Bull Sale.We welcome again our friend Don Heggie with his good set of pure-bred Simmental Bulls. We would also like to welcome Frank Jenkinsas our new auctioneer to the bull sale. Thank you to both Brant andKen Hurlburt for all the years you were the voice of our bull sale.Thank you to all of the bidders and buyers of last year’s sale – wereally appreciate you, the customer. The fall of 2012 was certainly one that no one could have predictedwith the rise in grain prices due to the drought that has impacted a largepart of the US as well as the beef recall at XL Foods in Brooks.Needless to say that even though calf prices stayed relativelystrong the cowman had to once again prove his or her resilience.This was not the most severe storm we had to weather in the last10 years, but it was another one which had us take a deep breathand brush it off. Long term the Beef Industry in North America is in store forsome great things. The global population that is demanding beef isgrowing. As cattle producers every decision we make will dictatewhether we can keep up with the demands of this growing population.One of the biggest contributors to the success of a cow calf operationis bull selection. Trust Red Angus to deliver a lively calf born unassistedwhich will perform well on feed and grade to supply the evermorecritical consumer. The bulls have come through a relatively mild winter again inSouthern Alberta and we are as proud of them as ever. We continuethe search to use breed leading herd sires that offer calving ease aswell as performance. We want females that are easy fleshing withmilking ability and require no added maintenance. Bulls at no timereceive creep feed and are developed on a ration that exhibits theirpotential to perform without sacrificing longevity. You will notice thisyear that we have added a few more Hybrid Simmental Angus xBulls. This was due to the increased demand we have been hearingfrom our customers. TERMS - The terms of the sale are cash or cheque payable at par at FortMacleod, Alta. The right of property shall not pass until settlement is made.All settlements must be made with the clerks of the sale before any cattle willbe released.

BIDS - Every animal entering the sale ring will be sold to the highest bidderA floor price will apply to each animal consigned.

DISPUTES - In case of disputes, bidding will be reopened between the partiesinvolved. If no further bid is made, the buyer will be the person from whomthe auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision in such mat-ters will be final.

PURCHASER’S RISK - Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser assoon as sold.

ANNOUNCEMENTS - Errors discovered in the catalogue will be correctedby announcements from the Auction Stand at sale time and such correctionswill take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue.

CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRY - A certificate of registry duly transferred willbe furnished to the buyer for each animal after settlement is made.
