Especially the cost factor

time burdens the ceramic

industry: Many days can

pass until the clay becomes

a brick ready for shipment.

However, it does not have

to be that way, only

24 hours can be enough.

In collaboration with the

industry, KELLER HCW has

developed a production

line reducing the time work-

flow within this dimension.

By the new fast firing

method, not more than ten

hours are necessary to fire

not only flat tiles in the flat

firing method, but also the

necessary special shaped

products.

Convincing technologyEach type of bricks as

building material for roofs,

walls and floor are the basis

for the mainstays of the

KELLER HCW company

group. In the years of foun-

dation just as today, the

construction of machines

and plants for the ceramic

industry is a firm and

successful main pillar of the

company.

Bricks, facing bricks, pavers,

hollow bricks, roof tiles, split

and floor tiles, drain pipes

and refractory products are

manufactured with the

KELLER HCW machines and

plants.

Moreover, the hot air from

the cooling zone of the kiln

is used for the final dryer.

This dryer dehumidifies the

brick to at least one

percent.

At KELLER HCW it goes

without saying that these

systems are designed

variably and for different

types of bricks.

From preparation to ship-

ping the KELLER HCW

production line arranges for

the smooth operation.

When it comes to the man-

ufacturing of high-quality

ceramic products, the qual-

ity of the source material

is of vital importance. This

includes that the clay mate-

rial shows an absolutely

homogeneous consistency

with exactly defined pro-

perties and is free of impuri-

ties. A precondition which

can only be fulfilled when

the appropriate technology

is available to prepare the

clay specifically right from

the start. Each clay pit

supplies another source

material. Therefore,

KELLER HCW offers different

machine and plant con-

cepts for the effective

material preparation and

shaping.

terial is suitable and which

demands are made on the

production and conse-

quently on the plant.

On the basis of the objec-

tively determined data, the

tests carried out and the

long lasting experience,

the KELLER HCW laboratory

team gives recommenda-

tions about:

• operation mass

• drying time

• firing time and tempera-

ture

• process engineering to

be employed

The customer as well as the

responsible departments

of KELLER HCW, such as

the project department,

receive these recommen-

dations.

In case of an order, the

laboratory tests and results

are the basis for a plant

draft, for the contract

preparation, in short: for

the complete design of

the plant. The exacter

and later, of course, the

high demands. At the

products there may only be

lowest differences because

one brick has to look ex-

actly like the other.

For example with well-engi-

neered kiln systems for the

best firing results with the

least possible energy

consumption, with dryers for

continuous gentle drying of

the ceramic products or

with setting machines for

precise positioning of bricks

or roof tiles.

Technics for theenvironmental protection

For many years, environ-

mental protection plays an

important role at KELLER

HCW. Measures for air pollu-

tion prevention present a

significant point for a long

time.

How can the emissions of

organic pollutions be re-

duced to a minimum? In

cooperation with the indus-

try, KELLER HCW found the

right answer to this question:

A process-integrated clean-

ing method for organic pol-

lutions in the flue gas.

The modern Poroton brick

has porous properties which

are achieved by adding dif-

ferent materials. Through

these substances which

cannot be replaced by

other ones, low tempera-

ture carbonization gases

and thus emissions emerge

during the firing process. The

flue gas cleaning method

developed by KELLER HCW

prevents that this low tem-

perature carbonization gas

flows under the flue gas off-

take system and thus to the

atmosphere.
