Working Distance for Close-up Application
■ Calculation of Working Distance
Working Distance is calculated by the relation of Object, Lens and Image Sensor as shown below.
m(magnification) and O/I(distance of object and image sensor)is calculated by the following.

Technical Information
For Close-Up application, when the Object (Y’ ) is coming closer to the Lens, Image (y) is formed away from the Lens in proportion to the magnification. When the positions of Lens and Image Sensor stay, Image (y) is formed behind the Image Sensor, and the actual image will be out of focus. Therefore, using lens’ extension structure, adjusting to have Image (y) formed on the Image Sensor by extending the inter-val between Lens and Image Sensor.
As the amount of extension by the structure of the Lens is limited, Extension Rings are used together to support and adjust to have Image (y) formed on the Image Sensor.
