I aspire to state that Machilipatnam town was a special grade municipality with a population of

1,75,495 that spread around an area of 26.67 sq.km. It is one of the oldest towns on the Eastern

coast of the country even in the early Historic period. The Britishers established one of their

earliest factories here.

E – Newsletter furnishes the detail overview of activities taken up by the municipality in the

month of August, 2016. Special initiatives taken up in this month include conduction of public

Awareness ‘Rally’ on the issues of Domalapai Dandayatra and Parisala Parisubratha and

Nagadhu Rahitha Rally; under Smart Pulse Survey 66.58 % members have been surveyed till the

month of November 2016 in our Municipality. Another Notable event is initiation of digital

classes in the Municipal Schools of Desaipet and Rustumbada

College, construction of toilets in Fish Market, provision of public water tap,

culvert construction on drain, pumpset provision at Shiva Ganga drain, etc.

Andhra Pradesh Smart Pulse Survey is a massive survey of all households, aimed

to capture the required socio-economic data directly in digital form, with online

validations is launched on 8th July, 2016 across Andhra Pradesh. The basic

purpose of the Policy is to create the People Hub as a Single Source of Truth. 117

enumerators were involved in the collecting the huge data required by covering all

the 42wards of Machilipatnam Municipality.

rules to be followed during examinations, process of writing answers, preparation for

examinations, etc. The digital classes are focused to enable knowledge, increase memory power,

easy understanding, increase in school enrolment and participation, etc. Measures are being

taken to introduce digital classes in other schools of Machilipatnam with the support of Rashtriya

Madhyamika Vidhya Abhyan.
