The Burleson Area Chamber of Commerce welcomes Betsy Price, Mayor of the City of Fort Worth, as the speaker for the upcoming Power of Heels Luncheon on July 19, 2013. Mayor Price will speak about her experienc-es, successes and challeng-es leading to and in her role as Mayor of the 750,000 citizens of Fort Worth.
Mayor Price is a Fort Worth native who was elected as the 44th Mayor of the City of Fort Worth June 18, 2011. Prior to her life in public service, Mayor Price was owner of Price Cornelius Title Ser-vice before becoming the Tarrant County Tax As-
sessor. She quickly used her business experience to make her department one of the most effi cient in Texas, saving taxpayers millions of dollars with almost no increases in her department’s budget.
Mayor Price graduated from Arlington Heights High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. Since then, she has been a leader in the Fort Worth commu-nity serving on numerous boards, commissions and professional associations. Her role as a business-woman and community activist has garnered her reputation as an innova-
tor with strong leadership in one of Texas’s fastest-growing cities.
The BACC Power of Heels is chaired by Megan Holloway, Texas Health Huguley Hospital. The July Power of Heels Lun-cheon will begin at 11:30 AM on Friday, July 19th at the First United Meth-odist Church in Burleson. All Chamber members are invited to attend this event. Cost is $20 for Chamber Members who RSVP by July 17th, $25 for Non-Members and $25 for any RSVP received on July 18 and 19. RSVP to the Chamber at 817-295-6121 or [email protected].

The 2013 Honey Tour was an outstanding success! Nearly 900 riders from over 100 Texas cities participated in the 15th Annual Bike Ride on Saturday, May 25th, with more than 100 Chamber members and friends volunteering for this year’s ride. Cyclists commented both on a great ride, beautiful Burleson scenery and our great city. Make plans now to be a part in the 16th Annual Honey Tour on May 24, 2014.
