  • NAUE WRAPDESCRIPTION

The NAUE WRAP Secugrid geogridsystem for reinforced earth struc-tures utilizes Secugrid in wrapped, reinforcement envelopes at slopefronts. Temporary formworks, such as wood piles, are used in the sitepreparation and construction pro-cess. Mechanical protection of thehigh load-bearing capacity of NAUEsSecugrid reinforcement techno-logy is secured by the installation of Secumat erosion control matsor Secutex nonwoven geotextiles. These measures protect against ero-sion of the soil. NAUE WRAP ishighly adaptable to project-speci-fic requirements and geometries, which leads to an economical, aes-thetic solution capable of suppor-ting vegetation. Slope surfaces atangles up to 70 can be vegetated.Additional UV protection can be provided through the installation of facing stones or other adequatematerials.

Applications:- Vegetated slopes between 45 and 70- Retaining walls up to 90, in combina-

    tion with a panel facing

System Components:- Secugrid PET geogrid for primary

reinforcement- For taller constructions, Secugrid PET

geogrid for secondary reinforcement between layers

    - Temporary formworks- Secumat erosion control

    mat or Secutex nonwoven geotextiles

    - Fasteners- Hydroseeding

NAUE Secugrid GeogridsSecugrid geogrids are produced with a new dimension of manufacturing tech-nology. The reinforcement element is ahighly-oriented flat bar that is uniformlyextruded and drawn, ensuring a conti-nuous homogeneous molecular structure,to achieve a high modulus and highstrength at low elongations. The longitu-dinal and transverse reinforcement bars are firmly joined with the NAUE-patented welding technology to provide

a structurally sound and stable geogrid for reinforcement applications. Secugridis used for base reinforcement, mechani-cally stabilised earth (MSE) wall construc-tion including veneer stabilisation, thesegmental retaining wall (SRW) market, embankment reinforcement, load transferplatforms over pile caps, sinkhole cove-rage, construction on soft soils and othersoil reinforcement applications.

  • Advantages:- Permanent stability even on slopes up to 90- One source/system for all reinforcement needs- Natural, green-faced constructions- Conserves construction resources (and costs),

as site formworks can be reused- Simple construction- High load capacity- Site soils (including cohesive soils) can be used, which optimises

project economy since more-affordable cohesive soils can be usedrather than disposed of or replaced with non-cohesive soils

    - Secugrid geogrids can be used with soils stabilized with cement or lime

    - Variable spacers allow site-specific slope face adjustment- Ecological benefits associated with the use of local soils include

decreased transportation pollution (and cost) and conservation ofnatural resources
