SECUGRID® REINFORCED SLOPE AND RETAINING

NAUE NAILDESCRIPTION

The NAUE NAIL system combines thestrength and durability of Secugrid® geo-grids with soil nails to create a steep slope reinforcement system at slope incli-nations up to 60°. Secugrid®, with its uni-form, flat bar construction and outstand-ing junction strength, provides the primaryreinforcement in the slope direction. Thedimensioned soil nails are spaced uni-formly across the installed Secugrid® rein-forcement, which covers the slope surface.Additionally, the Secumat® 5/5 Q1 ES 601erosion control mat is placed over the Secugrid® soil reinforcement before thesoil nails are secured. The topsoil-filledSecumat® promotes the establishment ofvegetation for green walls and slopes. Vegetation can be established quickly andeffectively with hydroseeding, where nee-ded or preferred.

The NAUE NAIL system can provide tem-porary or permanent steep slope reinforce-ment. It is characterized by a high degreeof flexibility, allowing for significant adaptation to project-specific require-ments, site layouts and conditions whilestill providing a high-strength yet econo-mical slope-reinforcement solution withnatural, long-term vegetation cover.

Secugrid® soil reinforcement geogrids aredesigned to accommodate various site con-ditions and available soil materials, inclu-ding the ability to meet the challenges of a wide-range of native soil conditions - thusreducing the need for special, costly fill.

NAUE Secugrid® GeogridsSecugrid® geogrids are produced with anew dimension of manufacturing tech-nology. The reinforcement element is ahighly-oriented flat bar that is uniformlyextruded and drawn, ensuring a conti-nuous homogeneous molecular structure,to achieve a high modulus and highstrength at low elongations. The longitu-dinal and transverse reinforcement bars

are firmly joined with the NAUE-patentedwelding technology to provide a structu-rally sound and stable geogrid for rein-forcement applications. Secugrid® is usedfor base reinforcement, mechanically stabilised earth (MSE) wall constructionincluding veneer stabilisation, the seg-mental retaining wall (SRW) market, em-bankment reinforcement, load transferplatforms over pile caps, sinkhole cover-age, construction on soft soils and othersoil reinforcement applications.
