1 P R E F A C EThismanualdescribesthe“SoftwareSelfService”,whichmanagesdataregardingfueldistributionfromamaximumof16SelfServicestationsconnectedbyanRS�85network(alsoamixednetworkwithbothFMorMCmodels)orwithelectronickeys(FMversiononly).Beforeusing“SoftwareSelfService”pleasereadthemanual“FM–MCFPManagementSystemSoftware”,whichdescribesthetechnicalfeaturesandfunctionsofthestationindetail.

ThissoftwareallowstheusertoregistereachfueldeliverybythenewSelfServicestationonthecomputer,withobviousadvantagesintermsofcompanymanagement. ThetransferofdatafromtheSelfServicestationscanhappenintwoways:1. byRS-�85network2. byelectronickey(MasterKey)whichcomeswiththeSelfServicestationFM.

In the first mode the computer periodically checks the stations connected to the RS485 network which reply by sending the data on fuel deliverywhichisstoredbutnotyetsent.Whereitisnotpossibletoputincables,itispossibleto“download”thefueldeliverydatausingtheMasterKey,tobeusedasacarrierbetweenthestationandthecomputer.TheMasterKeyhasamemorywhichmustbetransferredtoacomputertobeelaborated.

The procedures described in this manual, show the user how to install, configure and use the software.

2 INSTALLATION

2.1 HARDWARE INSTALLATION: CONNECTION DIAGRAMS

“Downloading”thedataregardingfueldeliverystoredinthestations,canhappenintwoways:1.BycablewithserialprotocolRS-�852.ByElectronicKey

1.InthefirstcasetheconnectiondiagramistheclassicparallelwithtwowireslikeanyRS�85linewhichallowsconnectionsupto1200meters(with“twistedpair”wires)(seediagrams1Aand1B).Shieldingisnotgenerallynecessary.If,however,thecabledoeshaveit,itshouldbeconnectedtothegroundwirepresentintheelectricalboxoftheSelfServicestation.ThissolutionofferstheadvantageofsendingdatatothePCshortlyafterthedeliverieshavestopped,butitrequiresacabletobeplacedbetweenstationsandPC.

2.Ifthe“USB”kitisavailable,connecttheKeyReadertoafreeUSBport.Ifthe“RS232”kitisavailable,connecttheKeyReadertoafreeRS232serialport.

2.2 Software Installation The“SoftwareSelfService”isprovidedonCD-ROMandcanbeinstalledonanyPCwithWindows98/Me/2000/NT/XP.IfaUSBKitisavailable,thesoftwarecanbeusedafterinstallingtheUSBKeyReaderdriver.IfaRS232Kitisavailable,thesoftwarecanbeinstalleddirectly.

InstallationofUSBKeyReaderdriver:-InserttheCDinthePCdrive.-Thewindowshowninthefollowingpictureappearsautomatically.-Toinstallthedriver,clickwhereindicated.

Thefollowingisdisplayed:

-Clickon“Open”andfollowtheinstructionsthataredisplayed.-Duringinstallationitisadvisabletoleaveallsettingsaspre-set.

Installationof“SoftwareSelfService”:Toinstallthe“SoftwareSelfService”carryoutthesameoperationsasdescribedinparagraph“InstallationofUSBKeyReaderdriver”.Thewindowshowninthefollowingpictureappearsonlyincaseofsoftwarereinstallationorupgrading.Itofferstwooptions:anewinstallation(StandardInstallation)whichRESETSthesystemcompletely,orsoftwareUpgradewhichkeepsallpreviousstoreddata.Shouldanewinstallationbeselected,alldataconcerningpreviousdeliveriesanddownloadedtothePCwillbelost.

SelfServiceSystemThe installer and manager interact with the system through this program both for configuration (during installation) and everyday data collectionandprocessingactivities.TheprogramusesWindowstools(windows,menus,buttons)tomakeiteasytolearnandmanagethesystem.

SelfServiceCommunicationProcessThisprogrammanagescommunicationbetweenthecomputerandthestationsinstalledonthenetwork:itcanbeaccessedbytheuser,onlytoseethemessagesofoperationsbetweenthecomputerandSelfService.

3 OPENING THE APPLICATIONFromtheWindowsStartmenuclickon:Programs→ SelfService → SelfService System.

ThattheprogramhasbeenopenedishighlightedbytheSelfServiceSystemProgramdialogboxwhichappearsandthetaskbarwhichshowsa“SelfComm”icon.

Thisiconmustalwaysbepresentonthetaskbar;ifitisnotpresenttheapplication“SelfServiceManagement”willcontinuefunctioningbutallcommunicationbetweenthecomputerandthestationsisinterrupted.

3.1 SELF COMMByclickingonthe“SelfComm”icon,inthetaskbar,awindowwhichisdividedintwopartsisopened:1. Intheupperboxisalistofdeliverydatawhicharrivesatthecomputerthroughtwopossiblesources:

- FromtheSelfServicestations(incaseofRS�85network)- FromtheKeyReader(incaseofMasterKeyreadingonlywithFMversion)

2. Inthelowerisalistofvarioustypesofmessages:- Alistoftheoperationsdonebythecomputer(ex.StartNewCommunication,ErasingKey,SavingDataetc.)- MessagesregardingrecognizingtheKeyReader(ex.MicroLanSetupFailedetc.)- Messagesregardingrecognizingthekey(ex.DeviceMemory,etc.)- Messagesregardingthestatusofthekeys(ex.MemoryEmpty,etc.)

AccesstothispageisgenerallyusefulonlyduringSelfServicestationinstallationorwhenthereisacommunicationproblembetweenthestationsandcomputer.InthecaseoftheKeyReader(FMversion)thiswindowisopenedautomaticallytobeabletocheckthecorrectdownloadingofdatathroughthemessagesonthescreen(seepar.�.6).The “SelfComm”page,shouldbeclosedonlybyusing (HIDE ); thisway theprogramcontinues towork in thebackground therebyguaranteeinginformationexchange.Evenwhenthe“SelfServiceManagement”applicationisclosed,“SelfComm”continuestoworkguaranteeingdatacollectionregardingfueldeliveryandtransferaltotheharddisk;thenexttimethatthe“SelfServiceManagement”applicationisopenedalldatasentfromthestationswillbeimmediatelyavailable.“SelfComm”continuesworkingevenwhilethecomputerisbeingusedforotherapplications.Toalwaysguaranteecommunicationbetweencomputerandstations(orKeyReader),thegeneralpasswordisnecessarytoclosetheprogram.

The“SelfComm”programisclosedautomaticallyonlywhenthecomputeritselfisclosed(exitfromWindows).

4 CONFIGURATIONSequence of operations for the correct configuration of the Software Self Service:

4.1 CHOICE OF LANGUAGE

Thisactivityallowsyoutochoosethelanguagetobeusedintheapplicationstartingfromalistoflanguagesoffered.ThedefaultlanguagefromthemomentofsaleisEnglish.Procedure:- Open the “Configuration” menu- Select“ModifyLanguage”- TypeinSystemPassword- Choosethedesiredlanguageamongthoseavailable- Click on “Confirm”: the application will be closed momentarily and then reopened in the new language

4.2 MODIFY SYSTEM PASSWORD (OPTIONAL)

TheSoftwareSelfServiceisprovidedwithaSystemPasswordmadeupofanumberwithamaximumof�digits.

NOTE1: The System Password at the first installation is, by default, “1234”.NOTE2:TheSystemPasswordisinnowayrelatedtotheMASTERPINCODEoftheservicestation

Thepasswordallowsaccesstoallprotectedactivities.BydefaultmostoftheactivitiesareprotectedbythePassword.Theseactivitiesareshownbyacheckmark()nexttotheactivitiesinthemenus.The only menu which the Manager can choose whether to leave with or without password is “Management” → See/Print Delivery Data (see�.3)

IfyouwanttomodifythePasswordusethefollowingprocedure:Procedure:- Open the “Configuration” menu- Select“ModifySystemPassword”- Typeinthedefaultpassword“123�”- Click on “Confirm” - Typeinthenewpassword- Confirm by typing the same number again- Click on “Confirm”: the message “Password modified” will appear on the screen- Clickon“OK”toreturntomainmenu

ATTENTION:write down the password in a safe place; without it, it is impossible to access the protected functions.

4.3 ACTIVATION OF THE REQUEST FOR ACCESS PASSWORD FOR THE MENU MANAGEMENT/ SEE/PRINT SUPPLIES (OPTIONAL)

ThesystemallowstheManagertoprotectaccesstothemanagementofdatareceivedfromthestationswithapassword.Thisoptionisactivatedthroughthefollowingprocedure:- Open the “Configuration” menu- Select “Password configuration”- Typeinthepassword- Checkthe“Management”box- Click on “Confirm”

4.4 SYSTEM PRINTER CONFIGURATION FOR PRINTING DATA

TheprinterusedbythesoftwaretoprintthereportsistheonepresetbyWindows.ItispossibletomodifythisbyaccessingtheWindowsdefault printer configuration program from this menu.

ATTENTION: Modifying the default printer affects all the applications connected to Windows and not just the software Self Service Management.

Procedure:- Open the “Configuration” menu- Select “System printer configuration”- Typeinthepassword- ChoosetheprintertobeusedthroughthewindowopenedbytheSoftwareSelfService

4.5 CHOICE OF COMMUNICATION PORT BETWEEN COMPUTER AND STATIONS AND BETWEEN COMPUTER AND KEY READER

For the computer to communicate with the stations connected to the RS485 network and the Key Reader it is necessary to define the ports (COM)usedandwhatstationstheyareassociatedwith.Thesoftwareautomaticallyrecognizeswhicharetheavailable“COM”andthechoiceismadethroughadropdownmenu.

ATTENTION: it is not possible to use one port for both the network and the key reader. If you try this operation an error message appears.

Procedure:- Open the “Configuration” menu- Select“Serialportselection”- TypeinthepasswordThefollowingscreenappears:- Choosetheportsforsoftwarecommunication

- withthestationsviaRS�85(seeAttention) and- withtheKeyReader

ATTENTION: If the connection with the computer is through the USB CONVERTER PW 14 it could be necessary to find the COM port joined to the PW14 using the following procedure at paragraph 4.5.1.

- Click on “Confirm”. The system checks the availability of the ports and a communication message appears.

4.5.1 PROCEDURE TO FIND THE COM PORT JOINED TO THE USB CONVERTER PW14A–ProcedureforWindowsXPB–ProcedureforWindows2000C–ProcedureforWindows98

ATTENTION:Should it be necessary to detach the USB connection from the PC after connecting the PW14 and identifying the COM port associated with the USB, have it restored by inserting the connector in the ORIGINAL USB PORT.Reinserting the connector in a different port generates a proliferation of VIRTUAL COM ports requiring a new search for the port actually connected.

4.6 INSERTION OF THE SERIAL NUMBERS OF THE STATIONS, CHOICE OF DATA DOWNLOADING MODE AND COMMUNICATION CHECK BETWEEN COMPUTER AND STATIONS

Inthiswindowitispossibletoinsertmuchoftheinformationnecessarytothefunctioningofthesystem.Each station, defined by serial number, must be associated with a Unit identified by a number in order from 1 to 16. It is also necessary to specifydeliverydatadownloadingmodeforeachstation.AttheendoftheinsertionitispossibletodoaCommunicationCheckbetweenthecomputerandthestationsconnectedthroughtheRS�85network.

Procedure:- Open the “Configuration”

menu

- Select“SystemConfiguration”

- TypeinthePassword

- Insert the Serial Number(S/N)oftheStationsinthespaces provided. To helpthe installer, rememberthat an easy way to seethe Serial Number on thestationistopress#+9inthe phase called “AccessControl” (see manual“M0081”par.�.7.3.1))

- ByclickingontheUnitnumbernexttotheS/N,youcompletetheassociationoftheS/NwiththeUnit.IntheaboveexamplethestationwiththeS/N303019willbeassociatedwithUnit1andthestationwiththeS/N303021withUnit2.

- Afterthisyoumustchoosethecommunicationmode:whetherbyRS�85networkorbyKeyReader(MasterKey).ByclickingonthebuttonundertheS/NyoualternatebetweenthetwomodesRS�85/KeyorKeyOnly.IfyouselectKeyOnlythewindowimmediatelybecomesgreen

- At the end of the insertion of configuration parameters you must do a communication check. The communication check is necessary onlyforthestationswhichareconnectedthroughtheRS�85network.Itispossibletotesttheconnectionofeachstationseparatelyoralltogether.

- ClickonExittoreturntomainmenu.

TocheckasinglestationclickonCommunicationCheckwhichisundertheS/N,whiletocheckallstationstogetherclickonCheckAll- In case of a positive check the S/N box of the specific station will become GREEN- In case of a negative check the S/N box of the specific station becomes RED

ATTENTION: If a station has the Key Only setting the S/N box will become green by default

Ifthecheckfails(REDbox)dothefollowingcontrols:- Configuration of the station to the computer (PC CONNECTED=YES). Reference manual “M0081” par 4.6.1- Wireconnectionsbetweencomputerandstations(seepar2.1ofthismanual)- Driverinstallation- Selectionofthecommunicationports(COM).Refertoparagraph�.5ofthismanual- Checkthatthecommunicationports(COM)arenotalreadyoccupiedbyothersoftware.- CorrectS/Nofthestationinserted- SelfCommiconpresent- Stationpower

5. DATA TRANSFERAftersettingupthesystemandcheckingthecommunication,thecomputercanreceivedeliveryinformationfromtwodifferentsources:- FromtheRS-�85networkthesystemstartsautomaticallytodownloaddatafromtheSelfServicestations.- FromtheMasterKey.TodownloaddatafromtheMasterKeyfollowthisprocedure:

1. PlacethekeyintheKeyReadersuppliedandpreviouslyconnected2. TheSelfCommwindowopensautomaticallyandintheupperpartthedeliverylistshouldstartrunning.3. Attheendoftheoperationthemessage“OperationCompleted”appears.Clickon“OK”,thewindowishidden.

In case the readingwasnot completedcorrectly, checksomeof themessages in theSelfCommwindow.Scroll thewindow “List ofoperations” using the Up/Down arrows until finding the messages similar to those circled in the picture. In the example notice that the key wasnotrecognizedbecausetheS/NofthestationwhichdownloadedthedataisnotonthelistofS/Nsetinthecomputer.

InthisexampleyoucanseehowaMasterKeywasnotrecognizedbecausetheS/Nofthestationwhichdownloadedthedata(number304005) is not on the list of stations configured (numbers 304006 and 304008). In this case it is necessary to make the corrections needed in the “System Configuration” window.

6 MANAGEMENTThisallowsaccesstotheactivitiestiedtovisualizationandtransferofdatacollectedfromtheSelfServicestationsregardingdelivery.

Procedure:- Open“Management”menu- Select“Vis./Printsupplies”- Type,ifrequired,thePassword- Choose the first ordering criteria (Date, Units, Operator, RegNum)- Checking the Total box, the report will contain the figures in order of the firstcriteria- Choose,ifdesired,asecondcriteria- Set the filters to apply to the Date, Units, Operators, Registration Number and indicate the limits of the filters- Clickon“Print”tosee,printorsaveondiskthedeliverydatachosen

6.2 ENABLE/ DISABLE AUTOMATIC PRINT

This allows you to activate and deactivate the automatic procedure immediately printing on paper and/or saving on file the data stored afterdelivery.PrintingtakesplacewiththeSelfServiceManagementopen.

1. Forprintingonpaperthesystemhasdifferentproceduresdependingonthetypeofprinterused:* IfyouareusinganeedleprinterthenyouwillneedtoindicatewhichofthetwoportsLPT1orLPT2isconnectedandalinewillprinted

immediatelyaftereachdelivery* IfyouareusinganInkJetoraLaserprinteryoumustselect“DefaultPrinter”: - IftheprinterisanInkJet,itwillprintalineimmediatelyaftereachdelivery - IfitisaLaserprinter,itwillprinteverytimethereisafullpageofdata.InexitingfromSelfServiceManagement,itwillprint

automatically,evenifthereisnotafullpageofdata.

IftheSelfServiceManagementisclosed,butSelfCommstaysopen,newdeliverydatacanbestoredthatcannotbeprintedimmediately(because Self ServiceManagementisclosed).As soon as Self ServiceManagement is reopenedall delivery data stored whilethe application was closed isimmediatelyprinted.

2. Incaseof“PrintonFile”(orLog on File) the deliverieswill be saved in a text file to be read with NotePad. Thenameandpathmustbetypedin the specified box. The file whichiscreatedisofthetypeshowninthepicture.

Procedure:- Open“Management”menu- Select“Enable/DisableAutomaticPrint”- Typeinthepassword- Selectthevariousoptions.

ATTENTION: Printing on paper and saving on file the delivery “logs” are independent and can coexist.

- Type in the name and path of the file “log”. You must also type the file name extension “.txt” .

NOTE: If you do not type a path, but only a name the file will be savedinthefolderC\:Programs\SelfService\Exe.

- Click on “Confirm”.

6.3 EMPTY PRINT QUEUE

This activity allows you to interrupt printing which has started but is not yet finished:- InthecaseofanInkJetprinterwhichprintslinebylineonarrivalofnewdatathesheetisexpelled- InthecaseofaLaserprintertheprintingstopsevenifthepageisnotcomplete

Theprocedureisasfollows:- Open“Management”menu- Select“Emptyprintqueue”- The printout will be automatically ejected

Iftheautomaticprintingisdeactivatedtheactivity“Emptyprintqueue”cannotbeselectedfromthe“Management”menu.

7.1 PACKING

ThePackingoperationallowsyoutodeleteallinformationregardingdeliveriesbeforethedatechosenbytheuser.

ATTENTION:Data which has been deleted cannot be recovered.

Procedure:- Openthe“Database”menu- Select“Packing”- Typeinthepassword- Define the date, all stored delivery information

beforethisdatewhichwillbedeleted- Click on “Confirm” - Click on “Yes” when you see the message

“CancelalldeliveriesbeforeDAY/MON/YEAR?”- Wait for the Packing finished message - Clickon“OK”toreturntomainmenu

7.2 REBUILDING

Rebuildingallowsyoutorecoverdatabasesonlyiftheyhavebeendamaged(ex.Incaseofablackout).

ATTENTION: This uses a standard Microsoft Access tool, which cannot always guarantee full data recovery. If the damage is heavy sometimes the data is not recoverable.

Procedure:- Openthe“Database”menu- Select“Rebuilding”- Typeinthepassword- Selecttheoption“Yesor“No”- Clickon“OK”toreturntomain menu

7.3 BACKUP

Savingallowsyoutocreateabackupcopyofalldata.Incaseoflossordamagetothemaindatabase,itcanberecoveredfromthebackupcopy.

Procedure:- Openthe“Database”menu- Select“Backup”- Typeinthepassword- Choosethedestinationdirectorywith“Browse”- Click on “Confirm” - Clickon“Yes”tosavedata- Clickon“OK”toreturntomainmenu

Whenyoure-enterthisscreen,thesystemautomaticallyshowsthelastnameandpathtooverwrite.Theusercandecidewhethertocreatenewcopies.

7.4 RESTORE

Restoreallowsyoutorecoverinformationfromthebackupcopyincaseofdamagetothemaindatabase,ifthemaindatabaseisnotusableevenafter“Rebuilding”.

ATTENTION: Restore overwrites the present databases, with consequent loss of data stored from the last backup copy. Therefore this activity should be carried out prudently.

Procedure- Openthe“Database”menu- Select“Restore”- Typeinthepassword- Choose the directory containing the last

backupcopy.- Click on “Confirm” - Clickon“Yes”torecoverdata- Clickon“OK”toreturntomainmenu

8 “?”INFORMATION ON RELEASEThisactivityallowsyoutohaveinformationontheversionofthesoftwarebeingused.

Procedure:- Clickon?- Clickon“SelfServiceInformation”.- Ascreensimilartothefollowingwillappear:- Click on “Confirm” to exit

9 EXITItallowsyoutoclosetheSelfServiceManagementapplication:alldata isstoredcorrectlyby SelfCommwhichcontinuestoreceivemessagesfromthevariousstationsconnectedtothecomputeranditisavailableontheSee/PrintscreenassoonastheSelfServiceManagementapplicationisreopened.TocloseSelfCommaswell,doubleclickontheSelfCommicontobringtotheforegroundandthenclickon“Exit”,typeinthepasswordand confirm the exit by clicking on Yes.

10 UNINSTALL SOFTWARE
