The magazine of choice for the UK’s energy managers

Energy efficiency is here to stay. now higher than ever on the corporate agenda it’s no longer just an optional extra to add on to existing infrastructure or processes but a

fundamental principle that saves resources, reduces costs and can even improve productivity. To emphasise its importance the International Energy Agency now calls energy efficiency ‘the first fuel.’

This year will be a crucial year for the development of energy efficiency in the UK. As the year progresses EiBI will be following the Energy Savings opportunity Scheme, the latest major Government incentive. This could prove to be pivotal in the sector’s development. And the result of the general election is sure to bring new policies shaping energy efficiency.

Energy in Buildings & Industry (EiBI) is the magazine that industry, commerce and public sector organisations turn to for guidance on cutting back on energy use. For over 30 years

EDIToRIAl ConTEnT 2015

the UK’s only monthly magazine in this sector has helped thousands of companies save millions of pounds through the more efficient use of energy.

Every month the magazine provides an unrivalled coverage of the latest technical developments in the industry as well as detailed analysis of the policy and legislative changes that are shaping the market.

Energy in Buildings & Industry is well known for its controversial comment from industry leaders. As well as our own analysis, Andrew Warren of the Association for the Conservation of Energy pens his regular influential column. Coupled to this we have an unrivalled news section keeping energy professionals right up to date. Every month we interview a leading figure in the energy efficiency sector who give their tips and advice on saving energy.

For energy managers wishing to brush up on their skills or new to the energy scene, EiBI publishes a highly popular monthly Continuing

professional Development training module in conjunction with the Energy Institute.

EiBI retains close links with the national Energy management Exhibition (nEmEX) due to take place in April at the nEC in Birmingham. once again EiBI will be the official magazine of the show.

EiBI is the only magazine for the most powerful and influential decision makers in UK energy management.

Since it was launched just over 30 years ago, Energy in Buildings & Industry (EiBI) has been the number one monthly title for all those individuals that work in the public,

commercial and industrial sectors and are responsible for ensuring that the building or their organisation is energy efficient.

During this period EiBI has established itself as the authoritative voice for energy managers as the numbers indicate. These days however, those who are tasked with looking into the energy efficiency of their building or business have a variety of job titles. many consultants, building services engineers, facility managers, technical managers or even plant and maintenance managers are considered to be energy managers in their own right and are represented in significant numbers on EiBI’s circulation.

Having exhibited at all the major industry exhibitions and conferences including ESTA and mEUC events in recent years, the interest in energy efficiency from end users such as general industry, manufacturing, retail and hotel groups has increased dramatically. These individuals are the key decision makers within their vertical market sectors and are very often at director level within the organisation. As a result the publication’s readership has grown to almost 12,000 per issue, demonstrating EiBI’s value as an important and reliable source of information.

EiBI’s highly requested circulation is ABC Audited and the readership includes members of The Energy Institute, CIBSE and The Energy managers Association. Importantly, monthly copies are sent to relevant named individuals, as EiBI has a policy of not sending unnamed copies to companies.

“EiBI continues to provide individualsthat work in both the public and private sectors with all the information they require to make informed decisions”

COVER STORYWhy investing inPV makes sense

Are we heading towards a new era of zero carbon homes or are we still going to be building thousands of energy-inefficient homes? What can be done to revive the Green Deal?

Energy@Home, the sister publication of Energy in Buildings & Industry, is an invaluable source of information to all professionals working for housing associations and housebuilders. With a mixture of technology, news, opinions and controversy, Energy@Home is the ideal platform to debate the energy issues of tomorrow.

Each issue will take a close look at how the UK’s domestic property market is becoming more energy efficient. Energy@Home will examine how the house building industry can meet the demanding targets for cutting energy use. What are the likely technologies to be used in the construction of the houses of the future? Will smart metering become commonplace in the homes of the next decade? And what about the appliances of the future? Will they continue to become more energy efficient?

What effect will the general election have on future energy policy and will the Infrastructure Bill pave the way for a two-tier system of energy efficiency for our homes? Energy@Home will be following the changes every step of the way.

Energy@Home will also focus on the huge role refurbishment will have in bringing the UK’s housing stock up to standard. Rising prices and cuts to government programmes mean that the fight against fuel poverty is set to continue for

Online and Digitalwww.energyzine is the website of Energy in Buildings & Industry (EiBI) and Energy@Home. Focussing on the fact that every company, organisation and residential owner is looking to cut their energy consumption and costs, the website provides all the latest in-depth news including Government policy proposals and parliamentary issues, as well as feedback on the impact of new legislation in both the UK and abroad, as well as details of trends, products and services which are currently available to reduce the amount of energy we consume.

There are three regular columns that are available for sponsorship including the “CpD Fundamentals Series”, which is a four page section that appears in the centre spread of each issue and is published in conjunction with the Energy Institute. The content is generic and is supplied by independent consultants on a variety of subjects. The sponsor would receive their logo/name at the head of the first page as well as the Contents page, plus a strip advertisement at the foot of each of the four pages and the option of a full page advertisement opposite the Q&A section. The other two opportunities for sponsorship are the “Warren Report” and “Talking Heads”, which would give the sponsor their name and a small advertisement space at the head of the page. Further details are available on request.
