Appendix Appendix (July 29, 2003)(July 29, 2003)

Your recommendations and our Your recommendations and our actionsactions

1. CKM matrix elements. Requested a review of V_td. Asked formore detail on V_ud and V_us suggesting these details could bein the reviews on baryon decay parameters and strange hadrondecays.

It seems too early for V_td since there is no B_s mixingmeasurement yet.

No V_ud and V_us details yet. Wouldn't they be lost in theseother reviews? 2. CP Violation.

We have mostly addressed this.

M. Barnett – Nov. 2004

AppendixAppendixYour recommendations and our Your recommendations and our

actionsactions3. Neutrino Physics. Asked for a single neutrino reviewincluding the current review plus the two-flavor review, abrief theoretical discussion of Majorana neutrinos and doublebeta decay.

Everything done. Boris's mini-review was promoted to fullreview, and now it includes Hitoshi's two-flavor plots, adiscussion of Majorana neutrinos and of double-beta decay. Wekeep a separate review of double-beta decay with the moreexperimental aspects. 4. Quark model and hadron spectroscopy. Asked for a newmodern update.

Amsler wrote a greatly revised review. Referees had manycomments which Amsler addressed.

M. Barnett – Nov. 2004

actionsactions

5. Cross sections. Requested new modern formulae.

Not done. The current author said it was too much work. Will need a new author. 6. Heavy Ions. Asked for a review.

Consulted with experts in the four BNL experiments, but wenever agreed on author(s) so it never got done. We need toaddress this issue for RPP06.

M. Barnett – Nov. 2004

AppendixAppendixYour recommendations and our Your recommendations and our

actionsactions7. Particle Detectors. Asked for a section on RPCs,photon detection, plus updates on three types of calorimeters, plus an update on Cerenkov detectors.  a. RPC's. Groom did considerable work to find an author, whoreadily agreed and then didn't answer email. Is this is stillimportant?  b. Photon detectors. Groom has been trying to find anappropriate author for several editions. There are manyexperts on one narrow part of it, like the TMAE detecors inRICH, but he still hasn't found the right person. Two newleads: Ekhart Lorenz, and Pasquale Lubrano. He will pursuethis quickly.

M. Barnett – Nov. 2004

AppendixAppendixYour recommendations and our Your recommendations and our

actionsactions7. Particle Detectors. Asked for a section on RPCs,photon detection, plus updates on three types of calorimeters, plus an update on Cerenkov detectors.   c. A replacement for the EM Cal section (which most neededreplacement) has been written by Ren Yuan Zhu ofCaltech. Groom says it is excellent. He says the Hadroniccalorimeter section will be upgraded.  d. Update on Cerenkov detectors. This resulted in twobasically new reviews, one on accelerator-type Cerenkovs byBlair Ratcliff and another on underground detectors by DaveCasper.

M. Barnett – Nov. 2004

AppendixAppendixYour recommendations and our Your recommendations and our

actionsactions8. Miscellaneous:  a) Fragmentation: Requested that lepton-hadron scatteringresults be included.

Not done. The review was already written when therecommendations came out. The current authors declaredthemselves incompetent to tackle this. We decided to waituntil RPP06. b) GUT review: Requested a new figure.

Figure was not added, because no one told Stuart Raby.My fault.

M. Barnett – Nov. 2004

AppendixAppendixYour recommendations and our Your recommendations and our

actionsactions8. Miscellaneous:  c) Structure functions: Requested photon structure functionsbe included.

Done. d) Quark Masses: QCD sum rules should be added.

I did not inform Manohar and Sachrajda, so did not get done. e) SUSY: Requested three figures.

Perhaps not communicated to authors.
