Objectives of this presentation

• Raise awareness about the benefit of vegetable pulses including sustainable agriculture, food security, income and nutrition

• Promote the value and utilization throughout the food system

• Foster enhanced research

• Advocate for better utilization of vegetables pulses in crop rotation

Importance of Vegetable Pulses

* Good sources of protein

* Good sources of foliate * low in saturated fats and sodium * good amount of vitamin B complex and C * Contains minerals such as calcium, potassium and Iron * Very low glycemic index means absorbed slowly into blood streams
