AMA CHARTER 1040
GOLD LEADERSHIP
CLUB
PROPWASH & BACKBLAST
by Mike Melendy
Good work Blue Max & G.A.S. clubs! Thanks to the efforts
of both clubs, the field improvements were all implemented
in record time. Special thanks goes out to Bob Breckler for
"ramrodding " the work on fencing and mulching. Started at
7:15 and finished at 10:30, without shutting down the field!
It looks excellent, if I say so myself (and I do).
Attaboys go out to Don Linder for managing the multi-club
fuel purchase from Hobbytown Northbrook, 29 cases.
Thanks to "JP" for his co-operation. "Support your local
Sheriff".
This completes my list of tasks, as the field was rolled twice
with the able assistance of Don Linder and Gene Zerega.
Carl Will provided moral support and more importantly ,
lunch. (I can`t believe I ate 4 hotdogs, with no Beer yet!).
This month’s fun fly will be a mail run, so pick your best
plane for that task. I`m really ready for some flying and so
is the field. Get out and join us. Don`t delay, summer is
almost over!! This month’s raffle will be a NIB Hobbico
Avistar ARF.

THE ANSWER TO APRIL’S ‘NAME THAT PLANE’
The name of the plane is the Martin Baltimore.
Michael Corbitt was the only person to guess it correctly
and will get a free raffle ticket at the May meeting.
This aircraft was designed and developed by an American
company as a light to medium low level attack bomber, but
never used in combat by the United States. It was used by the
RAF, the Royal Canadian Air Force, the Royal Australian Air
Force, and the South African Air Force.
MAY’S ‘NAME THAT PLANE’
This aircraft was the first private aircraft ever used by a candidate during a presidential campaign.
Send all responses to Bradford Walters at [email protected].
CHANGES IN THE WAY CLUB MONIES WILL BE HANDLED BY BOB WISINSKI
Here are some changes that Bob is putting into effect immediately. Thank you.
1) The correct amount will be required. I will NOT make change and will no longer maintain a small cash fund to do so.
2) Change will also NOT be made using cash from other payments received that night. No exceptions.
3) I will provide a receipt book for cash payments. The member paying with cash will fill out the receipt. I will sign it.
Rich Frost sent in a web link for some excellent kits to build. It is www.hobbyhanger.com. Take a look!
AUGUST 16, 2014 is the 2nd Annual National Model Aviation Day. Last year during National Model
Aviation Day events, AMA clubs raised $76,000 to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. Model aviation
received outstanding media attention through these events. This year the AMA is offering T-Shirts in the
AMA online store for $10 with the proceeds benefitting the Wounded Warrior Project. Order by July 1 to
ensure delivery in time.
