2019 SUMMER SCHEDULE

Facilities & ExplanationsLutheran Island Camp is a beautiful 67 acre Island in the middle ofEast Battle Lake. Most programs, lodging and meals occur on the Island.The following housing locations will have portable toilets available andparticipants will have access to showers.

Christ Serve Ranch is 275 acres located 3 miles from the Island. Horseback, Creation,Leadership, and some other camp programs utilize Christ Serve Ranch for programming.Some participants may also stay at CSR in tents or other facilities.

The Tipi Village is located on the Island and includes two large tipisthat can house up to 14 people.

Check in times are from 3:00 to 4:30 pm. Check out time begins with an ice cream social at9:30 followed by chapel at 10:00. Campers may check out with their counselors followingthe worship.

During many of our events, campers will be transported to Christ Serve Ranch for periodsranging from an hour or two to a full day of activities. Some of these activities mayinclude bike riding, horseback riding, wagon rides, fishing, kayaking, hiking, the challengecourse, and more.

Explorer VBSMake your Vacation Bible School even more special by bringing the kids to camp for a day.You'll arrive by 10:00 and enjoy lots of activities, Bible lesson time, a picnic lunch, swimming(weather permitting), singing, canteen, and more. Off-Island Explorer Day Camps Day Camp is coming to St. Cloud this year. Camp activities for children K-6th gradewill run from 7:30 am to 4 pm. There will be lots of activities, crafts, games, and somuch more. Campers will take a field trip to Lutheran Island Camp. Ages 5-12

Trailblazer Fishing CampThis event is for youth who want to do somefishing, but also want to have the fun of camp.We provide a rod, reel, and some tackle for youto take home. Trailblazer/Voyageur Night Owl CampSome children are just made to be night owls. This will be the camp for them as we shiftthe schedules by 6 hours and they stay up until 3:00 am. Breakfast will be served atnoon. Some new, nighttime activities will provide our night owls with some fun andadventure. Ages 7-11 (Trailblazer) and Ages 12-14 (Voyageur)

Trailblazer/Voyageur Splash CampThere is nothing like being at Splash Camp on a hot summer day! We offer camperslots of summer water fun, including plenty of time at the beach, a giant slip-n-slide,kayaking, canoeing, water volleyball and basketball, singing around the campfire andgreat evening activities. This is also the week of the annual Lutheran Island CampWater Championships. Ages 7-11 (Trailblazer) and Ages 12-14 (Voyageur)

Trailblazer/Voyageur Classic CampThis is the way camp has been for three generations and we've set aside some of thebest weeks of the summer for them. It is based on kids having lots of fun doing manydifferent activities. The list of things to do includes: archery, basketball, softball, discgolf, swimming, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, volleyball, and more. ClassicCamps include a great Bible Study, sing-a-longs, devotions, cookouts, skit night,canteen, and crafts. Horseback riding will be an option available for campers. Each year we catch largeNorthern, several 4 lb. and better bass, walleye, giant crappies, and a couple of niceMuskies. We have instituted some new safety policies and procedures andthere will be a limit of 12 campers each week unless additional volunteers and boatsbecome available. Christ ServeSM Leadership Training CampChrist Serve Leadership Training provides youth with a unique opportunity tobe trained in leadership skills, then put those skills into practice. Young peoplewho would like to someday be on staff at Lutheran Island Camp or who desireto be Teen Servants/Junior Counselors should attend this program. We seek toidentify, inspire, develop, and train young leaders for life-long service in thechurch and in their communities. Lutheran Island Camp will be celebrating its 67th year of camping in 2019.

Lutheran Island Camp is located in west central Minnesota about 30 mileseast of Fergus Falls and 45 miles north of Alexandria. We are less than 3hours from Minneapolis-St. Paul and about 90 miles from Fargo-Moorhead.Located in Otter Tail County, Lutheran Island Camp is on beautiful EastBattle Lake, one of the premier fishing and recreation lakes in the state ofMinnesota.

The Island is 67 acres and is a true Island that a narrow road has been builtto. We have cabins with bathrooms and showers, a modern kitchen anddining hall, newly renovated chapel and recreation hall, and several cabinsavailable for self-directed retreats. We operate year round.

Christ Serve Ranch is operated by Lutheran Island Camp and is thelocation of our Science and Environmental Learning Center, our horsebackriding programs, our leadership programs, and our Equine College. It is 275acres with 2200 feet of lakeshore, many miles of trails, and a variety ofecosystems for study and enjoyment.
