• Twenty measurement comparisons completed, ongoing or planned in volume, temperature, mass, viscosity, force, vibrations, etc

• Participated in meetings; BIPM, OIML, AFRIMETS, APMP, IMEKO, SADCMET and EAMET

• Quality Management Systems are in place in all Partner States. Draft Quality Manuals for Legal Metrology inspection services are being worked on.

• Trainings through attachments at established NMIs and through exchanges is ongoing.

• Held a Regional Metrology Conference in Mombasa and celebrations of world metrology day were held in the Partner States

• Held EAC temperature and small volume intercomparisons and AFRIMETS temperature intercomparison

• National Quality Policies have been flagged off and others are in the making

• The Legal Metrology activities in verification and Prepackage Control have been carried out. The Partner States are working on expanding the scope especially in the areas of electricity and water meters

• On 6th -8th August 2013, there will be training in temperature through Partnership of FLUKE (USA) and KEBS to be held at KEBS.

• National Quality Institute in Kenya conducts courses in QMS

PTB is to undertake a regional quality infrastructure project for the pharmaceutical sector from 2013 – 2016.
