So here are... steps to googalize/bingalize your site!

Searches start with typing a word or sentence in Google or Bing - which keywords can best describe your product?
Google AdWords’ Keyword Tool can help you find high-ranking words, but get insights with Google Trends.
Step 1: Words are key

Step 2: Optimise to capitalise
Use your keywords in your website’s source and sparingly in web copy - keyword stuffing is penalised.
Sprinkle your keywords in headlines, subheads and picture captions.

Step 3: Be a mean content machine
Marketing conferences proclaimed “content is king”. Articles, photos, videos, slide presentations + infographics will boost your ranking.
Make your site easy to navigate. Offer in-depth information with a blog, ebook, video and/or podcast.

Step 4: Channel your content
Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and Pinterest are the main social media platforms. Twitter and LinkedIn are best for B2B, while Facebook is more B2C.
Digital divides often blur – some companies use all platforms. Pinterest is worth investing time into – a picture (or infographic) is worth 1000 words.
Step 5: Convert traffic into leads
1000s visitors don't equal to 1000s customers. Fine-tune your email marketing by focusing on customers' problems and offering solutions. Check legislation – in the UK you can only email those who have contacted you or made a purchase. Include an unsubscribe button.
Find out if your traffic comes from computers or phones with analytics – and be mobile friendly.

Step 6: Refine and strategise
Don’t put your feet up! New platforms are constantly created and online trends come and go at the speed of lightning.
Check on your competition. Refresh your content and monitor your ranking with Google Analytics.
Step 7: Make a cup of tea
