LucidShape CAA V5 Based offers the industry’s only complete design and visualization workflow solution for automotive lighting design within the CATIA V5 environment. The product's fast, accurate modeling and analysis of part-level models and product-level assemblies have been enhanced with the following major new features.

SmartStart Library ModuleSave time and reduce costs with access to a library of materials and media commonly used in the design of automotive lighting systems. The SmartStart Library Module includes refractive index and absorption data for various media, as well as pre-defined Volume scatter and BSDF materials.

Base Module ImprovementsThe LucidShape CAA Base Module helps designers quickly construct and simulate lighting models. Version 2020.09 helps designers analyze systems faster and more efficiently:

• Easily apply scatter parameters to selected surfaces that have beenparametrized based on precision scatter measurements and materialvendor data

• Have increased analysis flexibility with output of test table analysis inExcel

• Quickly determine regulation pass/fail results by including a re-aimingoption in the test table analysis

• Achieve better light guide uniformity with the ability to perform linear orcurved section analysis on a UV Data View

• Compare two designs with the ISO contour plot overlay for two UV DataViews

Design Module ImprovementsThe LucidShape CAA Design Module includes functional geometry creation tools that give users the freedom to focus on overall design objectives rather than the implementation details of complex optics. In this release, take advantage of expanded design capabilities with the addition of PS Variable Rotational Lens and Rotational Fresnel Lens features.

Light Guide Design Module ImprovementsThe Light Guide Design Module provides designers with the capability to create light guide designs faster, optimize light distributions and uniformity, and achieve better as-built performance. Enhancements in this release enable designers to more easily and quickly create filleted prisms for light guides.
