TI{E WR CHARETTE MOH Chapter 158 of the KWVA met this date in the skills room

at the Polk County Summerlin Military Academy in Bartow, Florida. The Board did not

meet.

Commaoder Cohee called the meeting !o order at 10:20AM. All Officers were present

with the exception of Past President Charles Appenzeller. There was a quorum ofofficers and members. The atendance list is attached. Vickie Antolick gave the

invocation of behalf of Chaplain Antiloc/< and Dick Champion led the pledge ofallegiance to the flag.

The minutes to the meeting of May 17, 2014 were published in the newsleuer and

approved as published.

INTRODUCTION OF GI]ESTS

commander cohee welcomed Dr sun Shin, the owner of wedgewood GoH and County

Club in Lakeland. Dr Shin spoke about his boyhood experience with uhe war. He was 13

years old when North Korea invaded South Korca. He also spoke about his life in the

i_lniteO States. He invit€d firembers ard their families and friends to an appreciation

dinner he is hosting on June 28. He is also expecting members of chapter 175 in Tampa

to attend.

commander Cohee also welcomed Judge oliver Green. Judge Green is not a guest, he is

a long time member, but due to a family health situation, has not been able to attend

me€tings.

REPORTS

1. Financial: Treasurer Jim Bradford that we have a balance of $3040'73' The

checkbook and bank statement balanced. A detailed wriEen report is on file for audit and

is available to review. See attached

2. correspondence: commander cohee received a letter from ttre Korean Consult

Genera's offi"" i, Atl"ot" about their re-visit Korea program for 2A14. This is not the

KWVA re-visit program. This program will pay 7o5O atrtare fot the veteran aad vo3o

for the veteran's companion. The program informatioo stressed the importance of being

self- independent for this triP.

4. Fundraising Chairman's Report Bill McCraney has requested either Friday, Oct

5. Membership Report: Commander Cohee will drop Lorcn Artlur from Chapter' membership, as he has still not paid either National or Chapter dues. That brings us to

OLD BUSINESS

1. A $500 scholarship was sent to Summelin Academy in Oct 2013 for the 2013-2014year. If we award anotler, it will be due in Sept or Oct}Ol4.

2. Jim Bradford reported that the DOF Convention was well attended this year.

l. Commander Cohee announced tlat the E Board would no longer meet on a rcgularschedule, but only on an as needed, called basis.

1. Editor Benton suggested that when a member wins the 5O/50, that they should beencouraged to keep it and not feel obligated to donate it back to the chapter.
