LTFRB APPROVED PROVISIONAL FARE INCREASE FOR PUBLIC UTILITY JEEP

While the Board recognizes the plight of the plight of the Filipino people in this time of crisis, it cannot be insensitive to the present clamor of stakeholders in public land transportation services for necessary action relative to fare rates, thus, the Board has judiciously balanced the rights of the riding public who are mostly dependent on public transport system vis-a-vis the right of grantees of Certificate of Public Convenience to reasonable return of investment.  In the decision dated March 20, 2012, the LTFRB Board approved the provisional increase of Php 0.50 for the minimum fare of PUJs but no increase in the succeeding kilometers.
