Group Event 17th of October 2014 Sweihan Camp Out

SWEIHAN CAMP OUT 2014

The Land Rover Owners UAE are meeting in Sweihan at the 17th of October to meet old and new members, talking cars, equipment, accessories and enjoying the great desert.

Everyone is welcome, bring your friends and family - as long as you bring them in a Land Rover (exceptions made in special cases - separate camp area will be marked accordingly).

We will spend the Friday around the camp fire and will leave the camp spot on Saturday whenever we like. Either straight back to the road or taking the Land Rover way our through the dunes.

LOCATION

The camp site is located in Sweihan, about 110km from Dubai, 100km from Abu Dhabi and around the corner of Al Ain at the E16.

We will be at the camp location up from 3pm on Friday the 17th of October, join at any time, but don’t be too late.

The area is big enough for a kids area and a quiet night sleep while some might wait for the sunrise around the camp fire.

The area is accessible with a 4x4 car. You will have to deflate, make sure to bring a compressor or a good mate with a compressor for the way out, the next petrol station is quite far away. Deflating might not be required, but will make the way in and out easier. The offroad part is drivable with your Land Rover, no special skills for extreme desert driving required.

ACCESS

Coming from Dubai and Abu Dhabi, drive to the Sweihan roundabout and follow the instructions on the next page.

The roadbook will give you clear directions how to get to the location, even without GPS. If you don’t feel confident getting the last km into the dunes, be at waypoint LRO14_05 at 4pm or 6pm and we will guide you in.

ALer  300m,  leave  the  abandoned  pump  sta0on  on  your  leL,  keep  right  &  keep  going  straight  on  the  flat  areas  for  approximately  300meters.

Pass  through  wall  on  flat  area

Follow  the  0re  tracks  through  the  pass,  then  go  through  the  gap  in  the  stone  wall  and  keep  going  straight  onto  the  dune  for  300  meters.
