LRK Big Red

Big Red is a broadly adapted light red kidney bean variety ideally suited to Colorado and Nebraska production regions. Big Red has been a consistent per-former throughout the trialing process, and has performed well in the University of Nebraska dry bean trials. Its upright architecture, early maturity and good yield potential make it an excellent choice for High Plains growers. Data shows Big Red with a yield advantage of 220 lbs./AC. over Pink Panther. Assuming a 220 lbs./AC yield increase over Pink Panther, profit would increase $110/AC on $50/cwt. Beans. This would amount to $11,000 for 100 AC of production and the added benefit of being up to 4 days earlier.
