SCHOOLS TREE DAY
Each year, around 3,000 preschools, kinders, primary and high schools across Australia take part in Schools Tree Day. Students nation-wide have learnt how to plant, and care for the seedlings they grow. Schools Tree Day 2017 was held on Friday July 28th, where over 70 native grasses were planted around the aboriginal learning circle.
This will mark the beginning of a long-term environmental program, engaging your students in a fun, hands on activity that can reinforce their environmental, maths, science and creative arts learning or simply contribute to creating beautiful school grounds.
With thanks to West Gippsland CMA and Knights Toyota, School Environmental Leaders and students, job well done.
FETE POSTER COMPETITION
Congratulations to Madison 3H winning the Fete Poster Competition. Madi will receive a free wristband and her poster has been used as the background for our new flyer. Well Done Madi.
STAFF CAR PARK
An Occupational Health & Safety Representative from the Education Department has visited LPS this week. Our Staff Car Park has been identified as an OH&S Safety issue. Therefore NO parent is to be using the staff carpark as a drop off or pick up area before and after school. The safety of our students is the first priority of this school.
PLEASE DO NOT USE THE STAFF CARPARK to drop off students.

Over the years children from India, Indonesia, Nepal, Sierra Leone, Tanzania and Zimbabwe have benefited from the kind support of our school. The two children currently sponsored by LPS are: · Gracious Gumbutsa a 16 year old girl from Zimbabwe – sponsorship of Gracious commenced 04/02/2013 · Yulita Luti a 17 year old girl from Indonesia – sponsorship of Yulita commenced 01/7/2013
We encourage all students to show their support by bringing in a coin each week to place in the class piggy banks. Remember, a little goes a long way.
