“A CARE CENTER EXPERIENCE FOR HOSPICE FAMILIES SHOULD BE A

HOME AWAY FROM HOME. THIS IS A VERY UNIQUE BUILDING THAT

BRINGS TOGETHER THE AGRICULTURAL ASPECT OF BRUNSWICK PLUS

THE BEACHES, AND LS3P PULLED IT OFF. “

he inspiration tile memorial wall extends into the building through the

entry lobby with hand blown glass tile memorial plaques. The wall is

designed to enhance the essence of the local environment and help

carry it into the facility. It also serves as a boundary between public

and private spaces and will extend out through future gardens as the

facility grows.TOther features include a children’s garden located outside of the family dining room and a number

of other gardens providing quiet, refl ective space for contemplation and relaxation. A future

outdoor chapel will be incorporated into the garden plan to enhance the outdoor experience.

The project is pursuing LEED certifi cation.

The three main “gardens” in the front of the facility have been named Faith,

Hope and Love. These refl ect the feelings and emotions held as core values

of the care center. Carrying the outside into the lobby space, continues the

garden and memorial wall experience.
